Ishaan Khatter is making waves with his performance in Netflix’s latest drama The Royals, where he plays Aviraaj Singh, better known as Fizzy. The actor’s portrayal has struck a chord with audiences, earning him an outpouring of love on social media. But one message in particular has left a lasting impression on him. A female fan sent him a note so moving, it instantly caught his attention and warmed the internet.
“Saw you in Royals. My wheelchair-bound grandma stood up just to kiss. the screen. That’s the power you hold,” it read.
Ishaan was deeply touched and took a moment to acknowledge it publicly. Sharing the message via his Instagram story, he wrote, “Okay, I’ve been receiving the sweetest messages for 3 weeks now but this is just one of the sweetest things I’ve read god bless her and thank you for the love hope you enjoyed.”
He followed it up with a message to all his fans, “And to everyone sending messages, I love you all.”
The heartfelt exchange comes amid the rising buzz around The Royals, which follows the story of a royal family from the fictional town of Morpur. Ishaan’s character, Fizzy, is a reluctant prince who’s been avoiding palace life for years.
When his father passes away, Fizzy is unexpectedly thrust into the role of Maharaj. As the royal estate faces financial trouble, he is forced to step up — a duty he never wanted.
Enter Sophia, a sharp and ambitious entrepreneur played by Bhumi Pednekar. She offers a bold solution: transform the crumbling palace into a luxurious royal-themed bed and breakfast.
As tradition clashes with innovation, Fizzy and Sophia must learn to work together — and possibly fall for each other — while trying to save the legacy of Morpur’s royal family.
News18 Showsha gave the show a four-star rating. An excerpt fromt the review read, “The series is flashy, visually stunning and has a melodramatic flair that has an aspirational, desirable and envious quality to it. And yet, it’s not all about style, hourglass physiques and washboard abs and no substance. If you scratch the surface, you’ll find a story of a family where everything that glitters isn’t gold and where ambitions to break free from norms still thrive.”
