Exclusive interview with the author

Q: What Inspired You To Write This Book?

A:“The real events and struggles I’ve faced in my own life are what truly inspired me to write this book. Every chapter reflects a part of my journey — the challenges, the lessons, and the moments that shaped me. I wanted to share those experiences honestly so that others going through similar situations might find hope or strength in them.

Q: Can You Tell Us About The Book?

A: it’s actually an autobiography based on real events I experienced when I first arrived in the Netherlands. The book captures my personal journey — the challenges, cultural differences, and life-changing moments I went through as I tried to adapt to a new country. It’s a very honest reflection of that phase of my life and how those experiences shaped who I am today.

Q: What Does The Title Mean?

A: “The title reflects the deeper essence of my journey — it’s not just about the physical places or events, but about the inner transformation I went through. It symbolizes the connection between my struggles, my growth, and the discovery of purpose along the way. Every word in the title carries an emotional meaning that ties back to the experiences I’ve lived and how they shaped my identity.”

Q: Was The Character Inspired By A Real Person?

A: Yes, the main character is inspired by my own life and experiences. The story is deeply personal — it reflects the real struggles, emotions, and turning points I went through when I first came to the Netherlands. While some parts are narrated in a creative way, every emotion and lesson in the book comes from real moments and real people who influenced my journey.”

Q: How Long Does It Take You To Write A Book?

A: For this book, it took me several months — not just to write, but to relive and process the real experiences behind it. Since it’s based on true events, I wanted to take my time to express everything honestly and meaningfully. Writing wasn’t just about finishing the pages; it was about healing and understanding my own journey.”

Q: where Do You Get Your Information Or Ideas For Your Books?

A: “Most of my ideas come directly from real-life experiences — moments that have deeply impacted me or changed the way I see life. I draw inspiration from the people I’ve met, the struggles I’ve faced, and the emotions I’ve lived through. I believe the best stories are the ones rooted in truth, and that’s what gives my writing its authenticity and emotional depth.”

Q: Do You Have Any Suggestions To Help Others To Become A Better Writer? If So, What Are They?

A: Yes, I believe good writing comes from honesty. Write from your heart — not for perfection, but for expression. Don’t be afraid to show your emotions or your flaws, because that’s what connects readers to your story. Read as much as you can, observe life closely, and be patient with your own process. Most importantly, keep writing even when it feels difficult — that’s when your true voice begins to emerge.”

Q: How did Publishing Your First Book Change Your Process Of Writing?

A: “Publishing my first book changed a lot about the way I write. It taught me the importance of structure, clarity, and pacing — but more than that, it gave me confidence. Before publishing, I was just writing from emotion; afterward, I began to understand how to shape those emotions into a story that others could connect with. It also made me more disciplined — I learned that writing isn’t only about inspiration, but also about consistency and revisiting your work until it truly speaks from the heart.”

Q: What, In Your Opinion, Are The Most Important Elements Of Good Writing?

A: “For me, the most important elements of good writing are honesty, emotion, and connection. A good story should come from a place of truth — something the writer has felt or believed deeply. The emotions behind the words are what make readers relate and remember. Clarity and simplicity also matter; writing doesn’t need to be complicated to be powerful. When every line carries meaning and the reader can feel the writer’s heart in it — that’s good writing.”

Q: What Does Success Mean To You? What Is The Definition Of Success?

A:“For me, success isn’t about fame or numbers — it’s about impact. It’s when my story touches someone’s heart, when a reader tells me they felt understood or inspired after reading my book. That connection means more than anything material. Success is also about personal growth — becoming stronger, wiser, and more at peace with myself through what I do. If my journey or words can bring even a small positive change in someone’s life, I consider that true success.”

Q: Tell Us About Your First Published Book? What Was The Journey Like?

A:“My first published book, Secrets of Amsterdam – Story of a Soul, is very special to me because it’s based on real events from my own life. It tells the story of my experiences when I first arrived in the Netherlands — the struggles, the moments of loneliness, and the transformation that came from it all. The journey of writing it was emotional and eye-opening. There were days when it was difficult to put my feelings into words, but every page felt like a step toward healing and understanding myself better. Seeing it finally published was a proud and humbling moment — it felt like sharing a part of my soul with the world.”

Q: How Important Is Research To You When Writing A Book?

A: Research is very important to me, even when the story is based on real experiences. While I draw mainly from my own life, I still make sure the settings, cultural details, and emotions are portrayed authentically. I also like to understand the background of certain places, events, or themes I write about — especially when they connect to a larger social or emotional context. Research adds depth and accuracy to the story, helping readers truly feel the world I’m describing.”

Q: Do You Believe A Book Cover Plays An Important Role In The Selling Process?

A: “Absolutely. The book cover is the first impression a reader gets — it’s what captures their attention before they even read a single word. A good cover should reflect the soul of the story and evoke curiosity or emotion. For Secrets of Amsterdam – Story of a Soul, I wanted the cover to visually express the mystery, emotion, and depth within the book. I truly believe that while the story keeps a reader, the cover is what first invites them in.”

Q: Where Do You Get Your Greatest Ideas For Writing?

A: “My greatest ideas come from real life — from the people I meet, the emotions I feel, and the challenges I’ve faced. I believe every experience, whether good or bad, carries a story within it. Sometimes, a simple moment, a quiet thought, or even a struggle can spark a whole chapter. For me, writing is about transforming real emotions into words that others can relate to. Life itself is my biggest source of inspiration.”

Q: What Advice Would You Give To Aspiring Authors?

A: “My advice to aspiring authors is simple — write with honesty and courage. Don’t worry about perfection in the beginning; focus on expressing your truth. Every story matters, and your voice is unique. Be patient with yourself, because writing is not just about finishing a book — it’s about growing through the process. Read widely, observe life closely, and never stop believing in your story. Most importantly, write from the heart — that’s what truly connects with readers.”
