‘Justice Must Be Served’: Family Of Haryana ASI, Who Died By Suicide, Demands Action

The family of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Sandeep Kumar, who died by suicide, said the funeral will take place only after appropriate action is taken.

Sandeep Kumar, an Assistant Sub-Inspector in Rohtak’s cyber cell, died by suicide on Tuesday. He allegedly shot himself with his service revolver, and his body was found in a field in Rohtak. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday visited the ASI’s family and offered his condolences. The family of the deceased ASI demanded justice and said, “the funeral will take place only after appropriate action is taken against those named in the video.”

ASI Sandeep’s cousin, the deceased ASI, told ANI, “We have said that a case should be filed based on the suicide note and video clip, and the administration should do its job. The CM has assured that action will be taken against whoever is found responsible. Justice must be served. The funeral will take place only after appropriate action is taken against those named in the video.”

ASI Kumar left a ‘final note’ that levelled corruption allegations against the late IPS officer Y Puran Kumar, who also served in the same district. Haryana cadre IPS officer Y Puran Kumar’s suicide case took a dramatic twist after the suicide of ASI Sandeep Kumar.

IPS Puran Kumar, who had recently been posted as Inspector General, Police Training Centre in Rohtak’s Sunaria, had shot himself dead in his Chandigarh residence on October 7.
