K Praneeth & K Preetham Talks About His Book “The Most Eligible Bachelor”

About the Author:

We, K.Praneeth and K.Preetham (always referred to as ‘The Twins’ since school) are both engineers and MBA post graduates by education. Having graduated from the premier IIT and IIMs, we have decided to finally nurture our long cherished passion of venturing into the world of literature. We always found solace and adventure in the stories and worlds we have fantasized about since our childhood. With our maiden attempt “The Most Eligible Bachelor”, we have explored the situational comedy genre which is really close to our heart. We really hope the characters, the situations, the twists and turns in the novel manage to engage and entertain the readers, bring a smile to their faces as they have always done to us.

Q: What Inspired You To Write This Book?

A:Right from our childhood, we have been very passionate about reading and story telling. We have stacked up many stories belonging to a plethora of genres. Now that we have completed our education and landed a job, we decided to put pen on paper. This particular story belongs to our favourite genre, situational comedy.

Q: Can You Tell Us About The Book?

A: The story is about a strange deal that connects two ends of the world (Andhra and America), two ends of the spectrum (Upper and Lower class), two people of exact opposite nature, education and gender. The lender is a highly educated woman trying to prove her mettle to her fellow villagers and the borrower is now a billionaire trying to hide his uneducated roots from his fellow bureaucrats. The deal is sealed by the fate of a young man, the most eligible bachelor who is worth billions, wanted by millions but was sold for mere thousands. Race through the pages of this sitcom filled with equal doses of fun, adventure, thrill and laughs in every chapter. Q: Where Do You Get Your Information Or Ideas For Your Books?

A: We are both always on our toes looking for new ideas. A journey to a new place, or meeting a new person triggers a chain of thought. We also gain inspiration from many sources right from the books we read, or plot points in a movie we watched to matter of our dreams. Infact most of our stories are from what we dreamt the other night. We get a plot point that does not leave our minds for days, we then sit on it and build the world around it.

Q: Do You Try More To Be Original Or To Deliver To Readers What They Want?

A: We always like to be original and true to our thought. The genesis of a story should always be genuine and agnostic of its reception. However, once the crux of the story is in place, we add elements to it so that the readers can relate to it or get engaged.

Q:What Does Success Mean To You? What Is The Definition Of Success?

A:We feel the definition of success differs from stage to stage. Also, we look at success as a milestone for many more to come. For example, at this moment, getting to put our story in the form of a book and send it to the hands and minds of the readers is our success. At a later stage, success would be to bring out as many of our stories and characters as possible to paper and hands of the readers.

Q:Tell Us About Your First Published Book? What Was The Journey Like?

A:This book “The Most Eligible Bachelor” is our first book about to get published. This story has been with us since our junior college days i.e., since the past 12 years. The idea of getting this published started when we gave a brief synopsis of this story for a competition in our MBA. Most of the readers have asked us to intimate them if we ever get to publish this. We started writing the manuscript last year and it took us close to 14 months to finish writing and get to publish. The journey has been a very special and emotional one. We shall always cherish this as our very first effort.
