About the Author:
An avid traveler and foodie. Like to read books of any Genre and author both Indian and Foreign. Love to watch movies and spend time with family on weekends. Actively play Cricket in corporate and Club leagues. For refreshing I like to ride bicycle and go hiking alone with a couple of books as companion while camping at night. Q: What Inspired You To Write This Book?
A:My grandparents and their bedtime stories about our ancient literature and rich heritage which somewhere got lost in sands of time.
Q: What Did You Learn When Writing The Book?
A: While writing the book, it was not only the character but the author who goes through the various challenges in real life and only belief in oneself to reach the end goal is enough to succeed in achieving what seemed impossible at the beginning.
Q: Can You Tell Us About The Book?
A: The simple quest of a daily life individual turns chaotic which characters and monsters rising from ancient texts turning his life upside down. The only way he can come out of it is to accept his destiny and face his demons and come out victorious in face of all challenges against unbelievable odds.
Q: What Does The Title Mean?
A: What we have treated as mythology due to may be lack of proof or knowledge for long, doesn’t mean there is no truth in it. There are still places existing on earth where science and common sense fails to explain the phenomenon. These places are witnesses to long forgotten truths which live in our minds as stories.
Q: What Do You Think Happened To The Characters After The Book Ended?
A: Finding a new meaning and opening his eyes to glorious past, the main character embarks on a new path which will take him in the history lanes where reality and fiction merge seamlessly to bring out the truth hidden from naked eye. Other characters while playing a small but decisive role in the events move ahead, some other characters stay to guide the main character in his further journeys to unravel the mysteries of ancient texts.
Q:Where Do You Get Your Information Or Ideas For Your Books?
A: The information came from stories narrated by my grandparents, ancient texts written by sages and some research on internet. Idea of the book came after guidance from my friends, well wishers and family who supported and helped me to go ahead.
Q: Do You Have Any Suggestions To Help Others To Become A Better Writer? If So, What Are They?
A: Try to live the life of your characters and feel their emotions at each instant while writing the book. This will help you to better understand the characters and how they behave or react to different situations. It will also help you in understanding the relationship of characters and their exact roles needed in your story.
Q: How Do Your Book Get Published?
A: After searching for a trusted and good publisher which would do justice to the my efforts and doing some research of my own I had selected the publisher to my liking and budget.
Q: Tell Us About Your First Published Book? What Was The Journey Like?
A: Benares is my first book and the journey was both tiring and enjoyable. It was just like playing your favourite sport and giving your best without bothering about the outcome of the event. You just go through the motions and handle them one at a time.
Q:What, In Your Opinion, Are The Most Important Elements Of Good Writing?
A: The story should be simple enough to be understood and relatable, entertaining to keep the readers engrossed, a pinch of suspense to keep the readers awaiting and most if all you should be completely dedicated about what you are writing. Because if you are not inspired or dedicated in writing the book, why will the readers be.
Q:What Is The Most Difficult Part About Writing For You?
A:The most difficult part was collecting accurate information from ancient texts and finding them in present time so as to keep the backdrop and places as original as I can do.
Q: What Does Success Mean To You? What Is The Definition Of Success?
A: Success is always a journey, as after succeeding at one thing you have to start working towards another goal. Success for me is only a stepping stone which brings me closer to my next goal.
Q: What Advice Would You Give To Aspiring Authors?
A: Do your research dedicatedly on your story, try to be original and put forward your own views and how you decode the information you get. Most important you should put your heart and soul into the story to make it believable.
Q: How Important Is Research To You When Writing A Book?
A: It is very important to me as I believe the backdrop and basic soul of the story should contain some truth so that the readers can relate to them and enjoy the story better.
