A first birthday celebration in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh has grabbed attention after a video showed an uncle showering his one-year-old nephew with an unusually lavish set of gifts. Shared on Instagram, the clip turned the child’s birthday into a talking point across social media.

The video was posted by the child’s maternal uncle, Akhilesh Chauhan, and shows a traditional ceremony where gifts are formally announced.

Aligarh Uncle’s Grand Gesture For One-Year-Old Nephew

The video features a priest who announced gifts during the celebration of little Shivaay’s first birthday. As names and items are read out, the list appears anything but ordinary.

Among the gifts mentioned for the child are a plot of land on the Aligarh–Agra highway, Rs 11 lakh in cash, a 20-gram gold chain, five silver utensils weighing 500 grams, silver idols of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha, silver bangles for arms and legs, 15 pairs of clothes and numerous toys.

Gifts For The Family Add To The Surprise

The generosity didn’t stop with the birthday boy. The child’s mother also received several gold and silver items such as a 35-gram gold rani haar (necklace), gold bangles, a gold ring, earrings, silver anklets and multiple outfits.

Gifts were also listed for Shivaay’s grandmother and aunt which included gold rings, silver anklets and clothes. The video further showed that 101 sarees were gifted to female family members while male relatives received 101 pant-shirt sets.

In the caption, Akhilesh Chauhan wrote, “Gifts given on my dear nephew Shivay’s first birthday.”

‘Hume Bhi Kuch Milega?’: Internet Couldn’t Keep Calm

As expected, the video triggered a wave of humourous and sarcastic reactions online.

One user commented, “Ye video dekhne walon ke liye bhi kuch hai kya? (Is there something for those of us just watching this video?).”

Another joked, “Mere mama to ulta mujhse mangte hain (My uncle asks me for gifts instead),” while someone else remarked, “Shaadi ka dahej kam tha jo ab ye shuru ho gaya. Gareeb aadmi kya kare (Wasn’t wedding dowry enough, now this has started. What should poor people do?).”

“Bas itna hi ameer hona hai (Just want to be this rich),” and “Ye reel meri behen ki feed mein nahi jaani chahiye (This reel should not reach my sister’s feed).”

“Wonder, where our society is going,” a person remarked.

But humour dominated much of the comment section with an individual humourously writing, “Shivay ke nanihal walo se request hai humko godh le le please (A humble request to Shivay’s maternal family -please adopt me).”

More tongue-in-cheek reactions followed such as “Hmare jivan ka lakshya: Shivay ko ghar se uthana (Our life’s goal: to kidnap Shivaay),” “Bas itna hi ameer hona hai (I just want to be this rich),” and “Ye reel meri behen ki feed mein nahi jaani chahiye (This reel should not reach my sister’s feed).”
