OnePlus Open launch date is just around the corner
OnePlus and Oppo have jointly worked on the new foldable device that is likely to be unveiled later this month.
OnePlus is launching a foldable phone called the OnePlus Open which we all know. Rumours hint the device could be announced on October 19 globally and for the Indian market as well. We have seen teasers of the product and the supposed accidental reveal of the device at the hands of a known celebrity.
But there are other nuances about the OnePlus Open that have come to light recently, which includes Oppo confirming its inputs in developing the OnePlus foldable device. But there is a reason why people are excited to see the first OnePlus fold phone this year and here’s a look at everything we know so far.
Official teaser reveals more
OnePlus has officially shared its teaser for the OnePlus Open without clearly naming the device. But as you can see here, there is the tall profile of the phone with what seems like the alert slider that OnePlus is known for in the market.
Oppo has shown its foldable credentials over the past few years with the Find N Fold series and the Find N Flip series. Now, it is likely to offer its expertise to the OnePlus team and build a solid foldable product for markets outside of China.
OnePlus Open Expected Price
OnePlus is not likely to compete with Samsung’s foldable range, which means the brand could have a more aggressive approach with its foldable device. Earlier reports suggested OnePlus Open could have a launch price close to Rs 1.20 lakh in the market but now another leak in Europe hints at a price tag of around Rs 1.40 lakh which is easily undercutting the price of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5. OnePlus usually keeps a different pricing strategy for its products in India, so maybe the official price could be much different from the one being tossed around.
OnePlus Open Foldable Features Expected
OnePlus Open could have all the bells and whistles that you get on flagship devices these days. It will be powered by a Snapdragon Gen 2 chipset with either 12GB or 16GB RAM. The device is expected to come with a 2K AMOLED inner display and a high-quality outer screen as well that should offer 120Hz refresh rate. OnePlus is expected to continue with its Hasselblad association for the cameras on the Open, where we could have a triple-rear camera system.
You will get it with the OxygenOS version, most likely the Android 14-based iteration but we’re hoping OnePlus makes it compatible for the foldable device. The phone could have a large capacity battery that should give you fast charging support like other OnePlus phones in the market.
