PM Modi said the attacks on energy and civilian infrastructure have serious consequences, highlighting their effect on global food, fuel and fertiliser security. He also stressed the need to ensure freedom of navigation and keep shipping routes open and secure, underlining their importance for global trade and stability.
“Condemned attacks on the energy and civilian infrastructure in the region, underscoring their adverse impact on global food, fuel and fertilizer security. Reiterated the importance of ensuring freedom of navigation and keeping shipping lines open and secure,” he added.
The Prime Minister thanked the Bahraini king for his continued support for the Indian community living in the Gulf nation. The call reflects India’s ongoing diplomatic outreach amid rising tensions in the region.
This was the second conversation between PM Modi and the Bahrain king since the conflict escalated following US and Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28. Iran later responded with attacks targeting several Gulf countries, further increasing instability in the region.
Since the conflict began, PM Modi has spoken with several world leaders, including those from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, France, Malaysia, Israel and Iran. India has maintained that dialogue and stability are key, while continuing to engage with all sides as the situation develops.
