Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke were on target as the visitors claimed a resounding 3-0 triumph against United after skipper Bruno Fernandes was sent off in the first period of the game.

Tottenham posted a 3-0 win against Manchester United at the Old Trafford on Sunday in the Premier League as Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke found the back of the net for the visitors.

Man United boss Erik ten Hag opted to begin Andre Onana in goal, behind the defensive foil of Noussair Mazraoui, Matthijs de Ligt, Lisandro Martinez, and Diogo Dalot. Manuel Ugarte Kobbie Mainoo and Bruno Fernandes were deployed in the middle of the park with Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho on either wing. Joshua Zirkzee started up front.

Ange Postecoglou picked Guglielmo Vicario to guard the goal, with Destiny Udogie, Micky Van de Ven, Christian Romero and Pedro Porro. James Maddison Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski formed the three-man midfield with Timo Werner, Dominic Solanke and Brennan Johnson forming the attacking trident.

Spurs silenced the home fans at the OT with an early goal as they struck as early as the third minute of the game as Van de Ven surged through the United half on the overturn before placing it on a plate for Johnson waiting near the far post to tap his side up.

United’s hopes were further dashed when skipper Fernandes was given the marching orders in the 42nd minute of the game. Mainoo was withdrawn for Mount following a strain as United were lucky not to concede more ahead of the break.

The second half began in familiar fashion as Kulusevski put the ball into the net for Spurs’ second beyond a hapless Onana as the visitors got their insurance goal in the 47th minute of the game.

Things went from bad to worse for the touring side as Solanke bundled the ball into the net after Pape Sarr headed a corner into the path of the striker.

United were lucky to get away with another in the final knocking of regulation time as Onana got a leg to thwart Sarr’s attempt when one-on-one with the keeper.
