Raj Anadkat Shares Connection Between United States Of Gujarat And Jayeshbhai Jordaar – News18

Actor Raj Anadkat is ready to make his Gujarati debut with the upcoming TV show United States of Gujarat. The drama will premiere on Colors Gujarati on July 15, 2024. The show will air from Monday to Sunday at 8 pm. Raj Anadkat, who is best known for his role in shows like Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and Ek Rishta Saajhedari Ka, will be seen opposite Sana Sheikh who has done shows like Nazar and Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi 3.

Raj Anadkat will be playing the local Gujarati lad Keshav while Sana Sheikh will play Sanskriti or Kay who is from America. The show’s plot revolves around Kay returning to India with the mission of reuniting her dying mother with her estranged family. Raj Anadkat and Sana Sheikh are joined by the stellar ensemble cast of veteran actors like Ragini Shah, Siddharth Randheria, Vandana Vithlani and Apara Mehta.

In conversation with The Times of India, Raj Anadkat opened up about how he prepared for the title role. He revealed that he sought inspiration from Ranveer Singh’s character in the 2022 drama-comedy Jayeshbhai Jordaar. He said, “For my character, I took inspiration from Ranveer Singh’s character from Jayeshbhai Jordaar. When I first got the brief from the director, they just told me that my character is like Dwarka’s Ranveer Singh, a bindaas happy-go-lucky guy who helps everyone, and girls admire him. While shooting too, we kept adding fun elements to my character.”

In Jayeshbhai Jordaar, Ranveer Singh plays the son of a Gujarati sarpanch who believes in equal rights between men and women. It will be interesting to see if there are other similarities between Keshav and Jayeshbhai other than just their mannerism.

The trailer of United States Of Gujarat was revealed on June 24 across social media. The trailer has a scene that is reminiscent of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. It showed Sana Sheikh’s character running after a vibrantly decorated tuk-tuk when she is helped by Raj Anadkat to board the vehicle.

Sana Sheikh and Raj Anadkat fluently speak in Gujarati as they get introduced. The trailer was captioned in Gujarati, which translates to, “Found a companion on Kay’s trip to calm the storm in relationships. How would Kay’s trip be from America to Dwarka?”
