Rohini Acharya, daughter of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, made headlines after she announced to cut ties with the family. Following a crushing defeat in the Bihar elections, Lalu Yadav’s family is facing another feud. Acharya, on Sunday, asserted that amid disagreements in the family, she has the blessings of her parents, Lalu and Rabri Devi.
Rohini Acharya is the second of the nine children of the RJD supremo, and she has made headlines previously too. Her wedding in 2002 was a grand event in Bihar. She currently lives with her husband and three children in Singapore.
Acharya left for Singapore last night.
Who Is Rohini Acharya’s Husband?
Acharya is married to Samaresh Singh, the son of former commissioner rank Income Tax officer Rao Ranvijay Singh.
Presently, Samaresh serves as the Managing Director of Investment Banking, Mergers and Acquisitions at Evercore in Singapore. He has also held senior roles at Standard Chartered Bank in the past.
He completed his undergraduate studies in Economics at Delhi University and earned a Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, and International Business from the Delhi School of Economics. Additionally, he holds an MBA in Finance from INSEAD Business School.
Singh’s father, an Income Tax officer, was a friend of Lalu Yadav.
Rohini Acharya On Current Family Feud
Rohini Acharya reacted to the ongoing family dispute and told reporters, “Whatever I had to say, I have said on my social media. I have not lied about anything that happened. Rohini jo bolti hai sach bolti hai (Whatever Rohini says is the truth). You may go and ask all of this to Tejashwi Yadav, Sanjay Yadav, Rachel Yadav, and Rameez. My father has always been by my side. My parents and my sisters were crying for me yesterday. I am blessed to have parents like them.”
She was further quoted by ANI as saying, “I feel fortunate to have parents like mine. In a family, why is it that only daughters are expected to make sacrifices, especially when there are brothers? When questions were asked to the brothers, they tell me to go to my in-laws’ house. As a result, I have decided to disown my brother.”
