Exclusive interview with the author

Q: What Inspired You To Write This Book?

A: I’ve always been fascinated by the idea of hidden worlds existing just beyond our reach—places where reality bends, and the supernatural lurks in the shadows. The Shards of a Dream Keeper was born from my love for dark fantasy, mythological influences, and character-driven stories.

Q: Can You Tell Us About The Book?

A: The Shards of a Dream Keeper is a dark fantasy novel filled with mystery, supernatural forces, and high-stakes battles. It follows Ethan, a boy haunted by visions, and Lysandra, a girl bound to a forgotten power, as they navigate a world where reality is fractured by the Veil. The story blends action, myth, and deep character struggles as Ethan discovers his connection to an ancient force and Lysandra fights against an entity trying to consume her. Together, they must uncover the secrets of the Veil before it swallows them whole. If you love intricate world-building, powerful friendships, and eerie, otherworldly threats, this book is for you!

Q: What Did You Learn When Writing The Book?

A: Writing The Shards of a Dream Keeper taught me a lot about patience, storytelling depth, and character development. I learned how to balance fast-paced action with emotional moments, making sure every scene carried weight. It also pushed me to explore complex themes like identity, destiny, and the struggle between light and darkness. More than anything, I realized how important it is to let characters evolve naturally—sometimes they take the story in unexpected directions, and that’s what makes them feel real.

Q: Was The Character Inspired By A Real Person?

A: While none of the characters are directly based on real people, they were shaped by emotions, experiences, and themes that feel real. Lysandra, for example, embodies the struggle between destiny and free will, a concept many can relate to. Ethan’s journey of self-discovery and inner conflict mirrors the challenges of finding one’s place in the world. In a way, each character is inspired by different aspects of human nature—our fears, desires, and the choices that define us.

Q: What Do You Think Happened To The Characters After The Book Ended?

A: Without giving too much away—let’s just say their journey is far from over. Ethan may have disappeared from their world, but not from existence. Meanwhile, Emma and Aria, despite having forgotten Ethan, feel the void he left behind. To find out, you’ll have to stay tuned for the second part!

Q:How Long Does It Take You To Write A Book?

A: It took me around eight months to complete this book, but the process was much more than just writing—it involved brainstorming, outlining, rewriting, and refining every chapter to make sure the story flowed the way I envisioned. Since I was also balancing university studies, some parts took longer than others. The most time-consuming part was developing the world and characters, ensuring they felt real and immersive. Editing and polishing the final draft added even more time, but every step was worth it to bring the story to life!

Q:  What Is The Most Difficult Part About Writing For You?

A: The most difficult part of writing for me is keeping the balance between pacing and detail. I want the story to be immersive, full of deep world-building and character moments, but I also don’t want to slow down the plot too much. Finding that perfect rhythm—where the action keeps moving but the emotional weight still hits—is always a challenge. Another struggle is staying consistent with the complex rules of the world. Since my book involves multiple dimensions, ancient entities, and a deep magic system, making sure everything stays cohesive and logical takes a lot of effort. But in the end, that’s what makes it all worth it!
