Sharvaanica Wins Gold At World U-10 Girls Cadets Chess Championship

Sharvaanica started her campaign with a loss in the first round but went on to win the next 9 games in a row.

10-year-old Sharvaanica AS is the World Under-10 Girls Chess Champion 2025. She won a gold medal in the World U-10 Girls Cadets Chess Championship on Tuesday (September 10). The chess player from Tamil Nadu scored 9/11 points to win the yellow metal.
Sharvaanica started her campaign with a loss in the first round but went on to win the next 9 games in a row.
In the final round, which was played on Tuesday, Sharvaanica suffered a defeat against the USA’s Zhou Abigail.
Nandinjiguur Chinzorig from Mongolia drew her game on board 2 and also finished with 9 points. But the first tiebreak was a direct encounter, and since Sharvaanica had defeated Nandinjiguur earlier in the event, she was crowned the champion.

Tamil Nadu’s deputy Chief Minister Thiru Udhayanidhi Stalin posted a tweet to congratulate the 10-year-old on her feat.
