Shots Fired Outside Rohit Shetty’s Residence In Mumbai; 5 Suspects Detained From Pune

Security has been heightened outside Rohit Shetty’s residence after the firing, and the officials are investigating the matter.

Unidentified assailants fired five rounds outside the residence of film director Rohit Shetty in Mumbai’s Juhu area. Following the incident, heavy police security has been deployed around the premises, and security has been heightened.

The accused fled to Pune after opening fire outside Rohit Shetty’s residence late at night.

Pune Police detained five suspects in connection with the matter on Sunday afternoon. As the matter is being handled by the Mumbai Crime Branch, all the suspects will be handed over to the Mumbai Crime Branch for further investigation.

According to an official statement by Mumbai Police, the officials are investigating the matter and examining all possible angles to identify the perpetrators.

“Unidentified assailants fired four rounds outside the residence of film director Rohit Shetty. Following this, heavy police security has been deployed around Rohit Shetty’s residence in Juhu. The police are currently investigating the matter diligently and exploring every possible angle to identify the perpetrators. The motive behind the attack is still unknown,” said Mumbai Police.

It is not yet known if Shetty was at his residence when the incident took place.

What Does Initial Probe Suggests?

According to senior Mumbai Police officials, preliminary investigation suggests that the firing was carried out by a single accused. Soon after the incident, the area was secured, and CCTV footage from nearby locations was collected for examination.

The CCTV visuals reportedly show the accused walking and firing. Crime Branch sources said the investigation is also exploring a possible gangster link, and the case is being probed from all angles.

Five Suspects Detained In Pune

Meanwhile, five suspects have been detained from Pune in connection with the case. They have been identified as:

1. Aman Anand Marote (27)

2. Aditya Gyaneshwar Gayaki (19)

3. Siddharth Deepak Yenpure (20)

4. Samarth Shivsharan Pomaji (18)

5. Swapnil Bandu Sakat (23)

Probe Continues

Police said further investigation is underway to establish the motive behind the firing and the exact role of each suspect in the case.
