Zakir Khan has been entertaining his fans with his brand new show, Aapka Apna Zakir. He is also joined by Shweta Tiwari, Rithvik Dhanjani and others as they bring a new dose of comedy every weekend. Most recently, Raveena Tandon graced the show as a guest, and Shweta made sure to set the floor on fire with a performance on Raveena’s most popular track, Tip Tip Barsa Paani.

Reacting to Shweta and Rithvik’s funny antics, Raveena said, “Matlab mujhe zindagi bhar ka trauma hoh gaya hai. Aisa version Tip Tip Barsa Paani ka maine life mei aisa nai dekha (I am traumatised for life. I haven’t seen such a version in my life of Tip Tip Barsa Paani). Actually, it was very funny guys. Fantastically done.”
The original song was used in the 1994 film Mohra and featured Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon. Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik sang the popular number. During the episode, the entire cast of Aapka Apna Zakir performed on Chalo Ishq Ladaaye and other songs with Raveena.
Zakir Khan’s show is currently under scanner and reports suggest that it has been discontinued. A report by Times Now cited a source claiming that the decision to discontinue the show stems from the fact that it has very poor ratings. The publication quoted the source as saying, “The second week’s ratings of Aapka Apna Zakir are so abysmally low that the makers almost fell off from their chairs. They have decided and informed Zakir about scrapping the show. Now, viewers perhaps have already seen the last episode. Only six episodes have been shot. We don’t know whether the balanced episodes will be aired or not.” The source added that ‘the makers only invited big stars, and the show was boring in terms of creativity. As a result, the ratings are poor, indicating that the audience has clearly rejected it’.
Aapka Apna Zakir airs on weekends at 9:30 pm on Sony TV and streams on Sony Liv.
