Shark Tank India Season 4 continues to impress viewers with its intriguing format and engaging pitches from entrepreneurs across the nation. The popular business reality show which educates and informs viewers about business insights, witnesses pitchers showcasing their brands in order to secure investments. In an unusual move, an entrepreneur made an appearance on the show not to seek funding and had different plans.

Ashutosh Kumar, the founder of Offmint, previously came to the show to pitch his brand in front of the panel of Sharks. This time, he returned to pitch a different brand. However, it is not what you think. Unlike his previous appearance, Ashutosh asked for just Rs 10 for 1% equity while talking about his brand, leaving the Sharks stunned.

He said, “I’m not here for the money; I’m here to seek the Sharks’ expertise as Guru Dakshina.” The startup founder went on to add, “Being on Shark Tank India has been a life-changing experience, and through Offmint, I hope to honour my father’s memory.”

Shedding light on Ashutosh’s journey, the resilient and determined entrepreneur hails from Samastipur, Bihar. Despite several personal and professional challenges wherein he was also betrayed by a former co-founder, he continued to work towards his goals. However, things got worse and life took an unexpected turn after his father passed away in an accident. The unfortunate accident took place on the same day when his previous pitch aired on Shark Tank India 2.

Amid the struggle, his family stood by him, encouraging him in his professional endeavours. Besides, he found support in an unexpected ally: Rani Ahluwalia who is a dedicated Shark Tank India fan from London. Rani believed in Ashutosh’s vision and invested in Offmint to help him rebuild his startup. As the pitcher shared his emotional story, the Sharks heaped praises on him for his perseverance and ambition.
