Indian boxers Sanju and Anshul Gill moved into the semifinal of their respective events at the Thailand Open boxing tourament on Monday.

Sanju posted a 5-0 victory over Reka Mariana Kasibulan of Indonesia in the 60 Kg category, while Gill got the better of Kazakhstan’s Daniyal Saparbay by unanimous decision in the 90 Kg event.

The National Games bronze medallist, Sanju, held control throughout the three rounds, to outbox her opponent and demonstrate her technical superiority in the bout.

Gill is slated to take on Uzbekistan’s Rustamov Abdurakhmon in the final-four of the event in Bangkok.

Sanju and Gill’s advancement contributed to India’s impressive performance in the tournament, with both boxers securing at least a bronze medal. India has entered a strong 19-member team in the competition, which has drawn participants from boxing powerhouses such as China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, South Korea, and host nation Thailand.
