Exclusive interview with the author
Q: What Inspired You To Write This Book?
A: I have always been very passionate about movies and have been watching films in all languages for a long time. So much so, I decided to make a movie myself and a few years back went to Bombay and produced a Bollywood film. I made many good friends and had a great experience in producing my film. Yet, the film world looks very different from the inside and had a good taste of the underbelly of the film world. So I thought why not write a book dedicated to hundreds of people who are outsiders to the film industry and create a story from their point of view.
Q: Can You Tell Us About The Book?
A: Here’s a polished version of your story description: — The story follows a group of young dreamers—aspiring actors and singers—who arrive in Bombay, some drawn by chance, others propelled by an unshakable passion to carve a place for themselves among the stars. But the glittering world they seek hides a ruthless battlefield. For many, it becomes a one-sided struggle—some are crushed by the weight of the system, while others lose everything, even their lives. At the heart of the tale is Kangna, a 16-year-old girl who runs away from home, chasing her dream of becoming an actress. With raw determination, she begins her climb toward the golden dome of fame. But the higher she rises, the more the entrenched powers of the industry—the shadowy mafia that controls the game—move to bring her down. What follows is an unrelenting clash, a no-holds-barred struggle between innocence and corruption, passion and power. It is a gripping, unpredictable saga where survival itself is uncertain—and no one knows who will ultimately claim victory.
Q: What Does The Title Mean?
A: The title- The stars have fallen- reflects on the exclusive approach we all try to take at times in our lives, to create entry barriers for others aspiring for success in our field. Since this story is about the film industry, the title is specific to the stars. However, it is relatable to any and every industry, and how human fear drives us to put entry barriers for others.
Q: Where Do You Get Your Information Or Ideas For Your Books?
A: Since I write to express my feelings I generally pick up a topic about which I feel strongly and the idea to write on any topic comes to as a strong urge to express myself. Since my writing is to an extent related to my experiences, I naturally possess some information on my subject. I also do a lot of research to make my story real and relatable for the reader.
Q: Do You Try More To Be Original Or To Deliver To Readers What They Want?
A: As I said, I express my emotions, and ideas about a subject for which I have strong feelings, so I express what comes to me organically. We will wait to see whether the readers like what they read. I like to be true and authentic to my story.
Q: What, In Your Opinion, Are The Most Important Elements Of Good Writing?
A: The most important element of good writing I feel that the writer has to feel an urge or a need to write on a subject he or she feels strongly about. I feel, that being the case, the reader will definitely connect and relate to the story. I also believe in writing in a simple and easy language, just like you are speaking to someone., rather than hiding behind big and difficult words. Of course, it depends on the target audience, and subjective.
Q: Where Do You Get Your Greatest Ideas For Writing?
A: Ideas have no time or format for their appearance. They can come at the most weirdest times. In fact, I do get a lot of ideas during bath or sometimes in a dream. Possibly the positive energy of water has something to do with that. However, I make it a point to write down the idea immediately, as they are like bubbles, and may be lost after some time.
