Exclusive interview with the author

Q: What Inspired You To Write This Book?

A:If the currency seized in a cash haul from a politician could speak, each note might have a story to tell, a tale of its journey through darkness and confinement. They might express a mix of emotions—relief at finally seeing the light after a long period of obscurity, anger at being hoarded and hidden away, and perhaps even a sense of betrayal at being used for illicit purposes. These silent witnesses might share the weight of the secrets they carry, the transactions made in shadows, and the corruption they have been a part of. They could speak of the longing for freedom, for circulation among honest hands and genuine exchanges. With voices imagined, they might cry out for justice, for accountability, and for a chance to serve their true purpose in the hands of those who value honesty and integrity. Each note, with its own unique history, would add its voice to the chorus of those demanding transparency and change. In their imagined world of voices, these currency notes might become symbols of the silent witnesses to corruption, pleading for a brighter future where their value is not tarnished by the shadows of greed and deceit.

Q: Can You Tell Us About The Book?

A: Its a travelogue of currency note from the time its parent, the Gold bullion was refined from the rock and pressed into a firm note till the time it reaches the furnace after a decade long travel. The note had captured its emotions and conveyed to me during its short stay with me.

Q: What Does The Title Mean?

A: It is a question that the currency note pondered and got the answer from me. It was relieved of the burden before entering the furnace.

Q: Was The Character Inspired By A Real Person?

A: The character is not a real person. Thanks God, the currency note does not have a soul, if it had, they would avoid illicit transactions.

Q:Where Do You Get Your Information Or Ideas For Your Books?

A: I get inspiration from the happenings around, I keep updating myself on current events and balance is my imagination.

Q:When Did You Write Your First Book And How Old Were You?

A: I wrote a Poem when I was in 3rd Standard about Rain, I was ridiculed by my friends then. It took 40 years to have courage to write a novel.

A: Story telling, Imagination and choice of words are fundamental to good writing in my view.
