Vir Krishn Khanna Talks About His Book “Gemsearchers”
About the Author:
Vir Krishn Khanna is passionate about books and his Nintendo Switch. This book is inspired by the play of words and the world of Mario. He sometimes wishes he could Pipe into the Mario world himself, and leave Delhi behind. His love for drawing helps him create stories that will connect and communicate.

Q: What Inspired You To Write This Book?
A:I saw a lot of family members who had written books- and since I started reading, I wanted to write my own books and become an author. I also love Playing video games and so I combined my two loves.
Q: What Did You Learn When Writing The Book?
A: Writing a book is difficult. It takes a lot of patience to write a book, and producing a book is not easy as i thought it would be.
Q: Can You Tell Us About The Book?
A:It was inspired by my favorite video game character Mario, and is based on Mario’s life in a game.
Q: What Does The Title Mean?
A: Well, the characters are searching for gems, and are exploring ruins. Its about discovery and challenges.
Q: Was The Character Inspired By A Real Person?
A: The characters were inspired by Mario, the mascot for Nintendo Switch
Q: What Do You Think Happened To The Characters After The Book Ended?
A: The character’s friends go to the next level of the Party Challenge-the Soundstage.
Q:How Long Does It Take You To Write A Book?
A: It took me a month to write a book, and 3 months to produce it.
Q: When Did You Write Your First Book And How Old Were You?
A: I was 4 years old when I wrote my first book on Trains. It never got published- I just made it out of paper, pencils and colours.
Q: How Many Books Have You Written? Which Is Your Favourite?
A: I have written more than 9-10 books and many stories, but only published one-my favorite is this one.
Q:How Did Publishing Your First Book Change Your Process Of Writing?
A: I thought writing a book was simple ,but now I realize how hard it is. I am sure my next one will be easier- I hope so.
Q:What Does Success Mean To You? What Is The Definition Of Success?
A:Success means being proud of your own work. That feeling of achieving something – is what i think is success.
Q:Tell Us About Your First Published Book? What Was The Journey Like?
A:The journey was difficult, as i had to plan a lot. Even after sharing content, I realised that i needed to look into a lot of details, including colours of illustrations, and the way the text would be written etc. It was hard to keep going back and editing.
Q: How Do Your Book Get Published?
A: I really pushed my parents to help me find a proper publisher, and we sent the story to a few- OrangeBooks agreed to publish it.
Q: What Are Your Top 3 Books?
A: I read 4-5 books a week, So there are a lot of favourites that i keep repeating. At the moment, I am reading the Sapiens- graphic novel, and I am loving it.
Q: What Advice Would You Give To Aspiring Authors?
A: Put your own life on paper, that makes your story shine.
Q: How Important Is Research To You When Writing A Book?
A: Very important- otherwise, the book won’t make a lot of sense.
Q: Which Of Your Books Were The Most Enjoyable To Write?
A: This book was definitely the most enjoyable. I really do enjoy writing stories and poetry.
