Latest OTT Releases: The OTT releases this weekend range from Anurag Basu’s Metro… In Dino to Love Untangled, making the holidays all the more fun.

After a tiring work week, all we look forward to is Friday. On weekends, while some people love to hang out with friends, family or their partners, a few wish to spend time in the comfort of their homes. And what can be a better way for the week-long exhaustion to wash away if not by watching your favourite movies and shows, lounging on your couch? If this sounds like you, then you are in for a treat as Friday (August 29) brings a mix of dramas, thrillers and actioners across OTT platforms for the perfect at-home weekend escapade.
1. Metro… In Dino – Netflix
Metro… In Dino, a spiritual sequel to Anurag Basu’s 2007 hit Life in a… Metro centres around the complex, emotional and bittersweet modern-day relationships of four young couples living in metro cities. The musical romance, led by Sara Ali Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ali Fazal, Neena Gupta, Anupam Kher, Pankaj Tripathi, and Konkona Sen Sharma, touched on the theme that love can be difficult but is so worth it.
2. Love Untangled – Netflix
Love Untangled, directed by Namkoong Sun, will take viewers on a heartfelt, comical ride with Shin Eun-soo in the lead. She slips into the shoes of a 19-year-old high schooler, Park Se Ri, who is insecure about her curly hair. Although she is determined to confess her feelings to Kim Hyeon (Cha Woo-min), her plan goes wrong after the arrival of Han Yoon-seok (Gong Myung), a new transfer student.
3. Songs of Paradise – Amazon Prime Video
This biopic is inspired by the life of Raj Begum, an acclaimed female playback singer from the Kashmir valley and a Padma Shri awardee. Her fame set the stage for female artists in the region to pursue their dreams. Songs of Paradise, directed by Danish Renzu, is led by Saba Azad, who portrays the role of Noor Begum. Film veteran Soni Razdan is also a part of the film.
4. Atomic: One Hell of a Ride – JioHotstar
Atomic, based on William Langewiesche’s non-fiction book Atomic Bazaar, stars Shazad Latif (Star Trek: Discovery), Samira Wiley (The Handmaid’s Tale) and Alfie Allen (Game of Thrones). The story centres around two civilians who get involved in a dangerous drug smuggling mission across North Africa and the Middle East. This survival game soon becomes a collision of hidden agendas, espionage, and a shot at redemption.
5. Shodha – ZEE5
Shodha, helmed by Sunil Mysuru, best known for the thriller series Family Man 2, is a gripping psychological crime thriller. It introduces viewers to a middle-aged man, Rohith (actor-director Pawan Kumar), who files a missing person’s report after the mysterious disappearance of his wife, following a fatal accident. Things go awry when the police find his wife, but claim that she is an imposter.
