WWE Smackdown aired on January 25 in India with seven matches. Cody Rhodes opened, Kevin Owens beat Jimmy Uso in the main event, and Bianca, Naomi, Rhea lost to Candice, Liv, Nia.

The latest episode of WWE Smackdown aired live on January 25 in India. The weekly wrestling event was hosted at the Moody Center on the Campus of the University of Texas in Austin.
The SmackDown episode was jampacked with action, featuring seven fights on the match card. The show kicked off with a small promo from the American Nightmare Cody Rhodes before the fans were treated to some men’s tag-team action.
In the women’s competition, Bianca Belair partnered with Naomi and Rhea Ripley to take on Candice LeRae, Liv Morgan and Nia Jax. LA Knight and Damian Priest featured in separate matches.
In contrast, the main event saw Jimmy Uso square off against Kevin Owens.
Cody Rhodes kicks off SmackDown
The show began with the WWE Universal Champion Cody Rhodes addressing his upcoming match with Kevin Owens at Royal Rumble 2025. Rhodes talked about how Owens always took the easy way out whenever things got difficult. The American Nightmare reminded everyone he was once Randy Orton’s student.
Rhodes also emphasised he beat Roman Reigns and Gunther in one-on-one contests. His recent title defences made him confident about his upcoming bout with Owens. Rhodes then kissed his title and shook Joe Tessitore’s hand before the segment ended.
Kevin Owens takes a shot at Matthew McConaughey
After a commercial break, the announcers’ team were running through the card for Saturday Night’s Main Event. Kevin Owens confronted Joe Tessitore, asking him why he didn’t take his interview. Owens said Tessitore made him miss Michael Cole before claiming he would show the WWE Universe who the real champion was at the Royal Rumble.
Owens then turned his attention to actor Matthew McConaughey at ringside. He told the Hollywood celebrity that he would beat Rhodes like Ohio State beat his team Texas Longhorns. Moments later, Jimmy Uso made his way out to the arena and challenged Owens to a match.
Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens brawl as the show went off the air
Kevin Owens won the main event by hitting Jimmy Uso with his signature finisher the Pop-up Powerbomb. After the match, Owens cleared the announcers’ table and then dragged Jimmy to the outside. Just when he threw the Samoan on the table Cody Rhodes’ music hit as he came charging down the ramp. Both men got inside the ring and started brawling as the SmackDown went off the air.

- LA Knight vs Tama Tonga – LA Knight hit Tama Tonga with the BFT for a pinfall win.
- Carmelo Hayes vs Damian Priest – Damian Priest beat Carmelo Hayes by pinfall with the South of Heaven.
