From August 13 to September 1, the Youth Kickboxing World Championships, organised by the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations, took place in Budapest.

Two girls from North Karnataka have accomplished a remarkable achievement at the Wako Youth World Kick Boxing Championship 2024 in Budapest, Hungary, bringing international recognition to India. These young talents have received widespread acclaim for their success.

In the 18 kg point fight category, Dhanvita Vasu Mogera from Mundalli, Bhatkal, was crowned world champion. She is the daughter of Vasu Mogera and Bhavani.

Inorva Avani Suraj Rao, the daughter of Suraj Rao and Sheetal Gowda from Karwar taluk, secured a silver medal in the girls’ musical form hard style category. She was trained by Nagashree Naikar, the chief instructor at Nagashree Martial Arts and Fitness in Bhatkal.

Two teenage kickboxers who have already made their mark with national titles also competed internationally this week at the WAKO in Budapest, Hungary.

Legacy Martial Arts Academy students and their parents were extremely excited and proud when Lyle Asari and Aiden Brummer received their SA colours ahead of the international competition.

Aiden (15), a three-time SA Point Fighting Champion, will compete in the Senior Cadet Boys U-63kg division in Point Fighting, Kick Light and Team disciplines. It is not the first time a talented martial arts student has been selected to represent the country at an international event. He was first called up to the national team in 2022. Still, he was unable to compete alongside his Legacy teammate Dylan Isaacs at the Junior World Kickboxing Championship in Italy.

From August 13 to September 1, the Youth Kickboxing World Championships, organised by the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO), took place in Budapest, Dunyo news agency reported.

The tournament brought together young athletes from all over the world to compete in various kickboxing disciplines. This year, the Hungarian capital welcomed 3,100 young participants from 68 countries.
