NEW DELHI: : BJP mocked Congress on Friday for the sacking of Rajasthan minister Rajendra Gudha, who said on the floor of the assembly that the state government had failed to protect women.

“Women’s empowerment, Congress style, with a dash of Indira Gandhi-inspired democratic temperament,” the BJP tweeted. The party further said, “A minister in Rajasthan government is removed for speaking the truth. Mohabbat ki dukan offers no space for honest customers it seems. Only the corrupt and liars are welcome in this dukan. ”
BJP’s Amit Malviya said, “Ashok Gehlot sacked Rajendra Gudha from the cabinet for speaking the truth. This shows how serious the Congress is about women’s harassment. ”

Earlier in day, BJP alleged that Rajasthan had become a “completely failed state” with at least 17-18 rape cases being registered every day and asked Rahul Gandhi when he would visit the state to see the “total collapse” of law and order . Union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat hit out at Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge for not taking cognisance of such cases.
