Jasmeet K Reen who directed Alia Bhatt in ‘Darlings’ will be directing the ‘Madhubala’ biopic: Report – Times of India

Alia Bhatt‘s maiden production venture, ‘Darlings’ which starred her alongside Shefali Shah and Vijay Varma got a lot of accolades. Jasmeet K Reen who made her directorial debut with ‘Darlings’ also got a lot of love for the film and her treatment to it. Now after this success, a report suggests that Jasmeet is set to write and direct the Madhubala biopic.
The writer-director has already started working on her next which is the legendary actress Madhubala’s biopic.As per a report in Pinkvilla, the biopic is currently in the writing stage and is produced by Madhubala’s young sister Madhur Brij Bhushan. along with Brewing Thoughts Private Limited. The report further suggested that the film will cover various aspects of Madhubala’s life and is currently in the scripting stage. The makers want to have a script which does justice to the events of her life and Jasmeet was brought on board since she has the knack of putting out strong characters for women.
The film will go on the floors from next year and while it’s not yet announced as to who will play Madhubala in this biopic but conversations are on with a current A-list actress. Madhur Brij Bhushan has given her inputs in the script just to make it more authentic and close to her actual life. The pre-production is set to begin from 2024.
Now one wonders if Jasmeet will collaborate with Alia yet again for this biopic after Darlings or some other actress will be brought on board. Fans certainly would be curious to know that!
