Swati Maliwal assault case: NCW summons Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s former PS Bibhav Kumar | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The National Commission for Women (NCW) has summoned Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal‘s former PS Bibhav Kumar on Friday in connection with the former chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women Swati Maliwal‘s assault case.
NCW in the letter said ,”The National Commission for Women had taken suo moto cognizance of the media post captioned ‘DCW chief Swati Maliwal accuses Arvind Kejriwal’s personal secretary of assaulting her’, wherein was reported that Ms.Swati Mailwal. Rajya Sabha MP and former DCW chief has alleged that the Pvt. Secretary of Shri Arvind Kejriwal had brutally assaulted her at CM’s residence.”
“Now therefore, take notice that the Commission in view of the above has scheduled a hearing in the matter on 17th May, 2024 at 11 am. wherein you are required to appear before the Commission in-person. Take further notice that in default, the Commission may proceed to take such action, as it deems proper.
Given under my hand and seal of the Commission, this 16th day of May, 2024,” the letter added.

The NCW has scheduled a hearing on Friday, where Bibhav Kumar is asked to be present in person in this matter on May 17 at 11 am.
The incident in question involves allegations that Bibhav Kumar, an aide to CM Kejriwal, assaulted Swati Maliwal, the former chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women, at the chief minister’s residence. Initially, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) remained silent on the matter. However, they later acknowledged the incident, with Sanjay Singh, a Rajya Sabha MP, stating that the chief minister had taken appropriate notice of the situation and that stringent action would be taken.
Meanwhile, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, who was addressing a joint press conference with Akhilesh, refrained from commenting on the issue and instead passed the microphone to Sanjay Singh to respond to the media’s inquiries.
