NEW DELHI: The Bengaluru court on Friday sent Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna to SIT custody till June 6 in connection with the obscene videos case.
Prajwal Revanna, sitting MP and JD(S)-BJP candidate from Hassan in the Lok Sabha elections and accused of sexually assaulting three women, was arrested minutes after he landed at Kempegowda International Airport here past Thursday midnight.
The 33-year-old MP, arriving from Munich, was swiftly taken to the CID office for interrogation.
Prajwal, who reportedly left the country late-night on April 26 amid circulation of hundreds of obscene video clips allegedly involving him, released a video message on Monday, saying he would appear before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on May 31.
Prajwal, who is the grandson of JD(S) patriarch and former PM HD Deve Gowda and is the NDA’s candidate from the Hassan Lok Sabha segment, is facing charges of multiple instances of sexually abusing women.
The cases came to light after several explicit videos of sexual assault allegedly by Prajwal became public. A SIT is currently probing these cases.
Prajwal reportedly left for Germany on April 27, a day after Hassan went to polls, and is still at large. Interpol has also issued a Blue Corner Notice seeking information on his whereabouts.
