Pasoori song artist Sheema Kermani says ‘I am against remake culture’ amid backlash to SatyaPrem Ki Katha’s Pasoori Nu | Hindi Movie News – Times of India
The makers of Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani‘s SatyaPrem Ki Katha have been receiving criticism ever since they released a new version of Pakistani hit track Pasoori and titled it Pasoori Nu. And now Pakistani artist Sheema Kermani, who featured in the original song, has shared her reaction on the recreated version.
When Sheemawas asked about her thoughts about the remaking of Pasoori song in India, she said that she has not seen the newer version so she can’t comment on that. However, she expressed her feelings about remake songs.
She said that several old songs that are popular are being remade and her first reaction has always been like the original is the best. She questioned the motive behind remaking old songs because the original compositions are already beautiful.”I don’t like remake culture too much. Although seen in a way, the advantage is that young people are also listening to the old iconic songs. It’s a good thing. Personally, I am against it,” she told Aaj Tak.
Sung by Arijit Singh and Tulsi Kumar, the recreated track’s music video features Kartik and Kiara. Originally sung by Ali Sethi and Shae Gill, Pasoori was the most-searched song on Google in 2022.
Amid the ongoing backlash against Pasoori Nu, Shae took to Instagram and requested fans for not sending hate to the team of new song. She said that people should look at it as a rendition rather than a remake, adding that instead of sending hate, publicly humiliating and insulting someone, don’t listen to it.
