During the interaction, a journalist informed Klopp about Manchester United’s exit from the tournament. The 56-year-old first saw the result of the match on a television screen and became spellbound for a moment. Klopp reacted to the scoreline with a sympathetic “Oooh,” said “Okay” and then moved on to speak to the media.

It has been a disastrous season for Manchester United. They have so far endured 8 defeats in 15 appearances across all competitions. The Red Devils entered the Carabao Cup with the tag of the reigning champions. It was Newcastle United, whom they beat in last season’s final to secure the title.
