Cinematographer Krishna K.R., 30, died in Srinagar on Monday.

An active member of the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC), she was hospitalised after she developed chest infection while shooting at Arunachal Pradesh and Kashmir. Her condition worsened on Monday, according to a Facebook post by WCC.

A native of Perumbavoor in Ernakulam district, she was working as associate to noted cinematographer Sanu John Varghese, who was the cinematographer for the third instalment of the Telugu film ‘HIT’ being shot in Kashmir.

The WCC statement stated that Krishna was an accomplished cinematographer and she was admired for her talent, passion and unwavering zeal for her craft. Her contributions to the collective and the film fraternity will be always remembered, it said.
