After the Pahalgam terror attack, Air India waives cancellation fees and adds two flights from Srinagar.

In the wake of the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, Air India has announced special measures for passengers travelling to and from Srinagar. The airline will waive all cancellation and rescheduling fees for tickets booked on Srinagar routes until April 30, 2025.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Air India stated, “In view of the prevailing situation, Air India will operate two additional flights from Srinagar to Delhi and Mumbai on Wednesday, 23rd April.” The newly added flights include a Srinagar–Delhi service at 11:30 AM and a Srinagar–Mumbai service at 12:00 noon. Booking for both flights is now open.

Air India further confirmed that all their other scheduled flights to and from Srinagar will continue to operate as per the current schedule. Passengers with confirmed bookings through the end of April can avail full refunds or complimentary rescheduling. For assistance, the airline has urged travelers to contact their customer support at 011 69329333 or 011 69329999.

Meanwhile, Air India Express, the airline’s budget arm, has also extended similar relief. The carrier posted, “We are waiving all change and cancellation fees for our flights to and from Srinagar until 30th April 2025, in consideration of the prevailing situation.”

Passengers can manage or cancel their bookings by visiting the official website or using the airline’s WhatsApp assistant at +91 63600 12345.

A group of terrorists linked to the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) attacked a group of tourists in Baisaran valley in southern Kashmir’s Pahalgam, killing 28 and injuring many others. The group named The Resistance Front claimed responsibility for the attack in a social media post which also included a picture of one of the injured tourists.

The attack started around 2:30pm on Tuesday afternoon as the tourists were roaming the meadows of Bainsram on horseback.

Home Minister Amit Shah briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the attack and is reaching Srinagar. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Shah both vowed to come down heavily on the terrorists and assured that they will be brought to justice.
