J.C. Creations’ Madhil Mel Poonaigal (written and directed by V.P.S. Sriraman) tells the story of two young men, from different backgrounds. Venkatesh (Girish Venkat), from a middle-class family, is so shy that he avoids going to work, as he may have to interact with women in the office. His colleague Vasudha (Malini Devi) is determined to marry him because she thinks that he will be pliant. Gradually, he develops a liking for her. But her parents won’t let her marry him, and Venkatesh is not bold enough to marry her in the face of parental objection.

Prasanth (Saiprasad Sriram), the son of a rich businessman, is in love with Nithya (Vidhya Kannan) and wishes to marry her. While she wants to postpone the marriage, Prasanth’s parents are not prepared to wait. With these complications, both men are unable to marry the girl they are in love with. And Vasudha ends up marrying Prasanth. When she disappears, leaving behind a letter, the police pick up both Prasanth and Venkatesh for questioning.
