About the Author:

Dr. Archana Singh is an Assistant Professor at Rajkiya Engineering College, Banda. She earned her Ph.D. from C.S.J.M. University, Kanpur, and brings over twenty years of teaching experience across various institutions and universities. Her academic interests include Innovative Teaching and Learning Methodology, English and Applied Communication, Business and Corporate Communication, and Contemporary Literature. She has authored four books and contributed as editor and co-editor to several scholarly volumes. Her poems, short stories, and research papers have appeared in national and international journals. She has also developed three communication skill experiments for the Virtual Lab hosted on the IIT Bombay website.

Q: Can You Tell Me About The Book?

A: A Thread Through Fire is a novella that tells the story of Jyoti, a young girl born with a cleft palate and faced with physical, emotional, and social struggles throughout her life. It is a journey of courage, survival, family bonds, and the enduring power of hope.

Q: What Does The Title Mean?

A: The title symbolizes the journey of passing through suffering and emerging stronger. “Thread” represents life, relationships, and fragile hope, while “Fire” represents pain, trials, and transformation.

Q: Was The Character Inspired By A Real Person?

A: Yes, the character of Jyoti is inspired by real-life experiences and emotional truths. Her journey reflects the struggles and courage of many women who fight silently every day.

Q: What Do You Think Happened To The Characters After The Book Ended?

A: I believe Jyoti continued to live with strength and grace, becoming a source of inspiration for others. Her story does not end with pain—it continues with healing, acceptance, and inner peace.

Q: What, In Your Opinion, Are The Most Important Elements Of Good Writing?

A: Clarity, honesty, emotional depth, and meaningful expression are essential. Writing should not only inform but also touch the reader’s heart.

Q: What Is The Most Difficult Part About Writing For You?

A: The most difficult part is translating deep emotions into simple yet powerful words without losing their essence.
