Exclusive interview with the author
Q: What Inspired You To Write This Book?
A: The cosmetic industry is evolving rapidly, yet reliable and scientifically organized information about cosmetic ingredients is often scattered across journals, textbooks, and regulatory documents. I wanted to create a single, comprehensive reference that simplifies this knowledge for students, researchers, educators, and professionals.
Q: Can You Tell Us About The Book?
A: CosmoPedia is an encyclopedia covering 121 widely used cosmetic ingredients. Each entry explains the ingredient’s source, chemical nature, cosmetic functions, mechanism of action, applications, benefits, safety considerations, and formulation insights. The book serves as a practical guide as well as an academic reference.
Q: What Does The Title Mean?
A: “CosmoPedia” combines Cosmetics and Encyclopedia. It represents a complete and accessible knowledge resource dedicated to cosmetic ingredients and formulation science.
Q: What Did You Learn When Writing The Book?
A: Writing this encyclopedia reinforced the importance of evidence-based cosmetic science. I also realized how rapidly ingredient technologies evolve and how essential it is to keep scientific information current, accurate, and easy to understand.
Q: Where Do You Get Your Information Or Ideas For Your Books?
A: My ideas come from academic research, scientific journals, pharmacopeias, cosmetic science literature, conferences, classroom teaching, laboratory experience, and discussions with fellow researchers and industry experts.
Q: What Is The Most Difficult Part About Writing For You?
A: Ensuring scientific accuracy while making the content engaging and accessible. Balancing technical depth with readability is always the greatest challenge.
Q: What Does Success Mean To You? What Is The Definition Of Success?
A: Success is measured not by the number of books sold but by the number of minds inspired. If a book helps a student understand a concept, supports a researcher, or guides a professional, then it has fulfilled its purpose.
Q: How Important Is Research To You When Writing A Book?
A: Research is the foundation of every scientific publication. Without credible evidence, a scientific book cannot provide reliable knowledge. Every statement should be supported by current and trustworthy information.
Q: Where Do You Get Your Greatest Ideas For Writing?
A: My greatest inspiration comes from teaching, interacting with students, conducting research, identifying gaps in existing literature, and observing emerging trends in pharmaceutical and cosmetic sciences.
Q: What Advice Would You Give To Aspiring Authors?
A: Write with curiosity, research with integrity, and publish with responsibility. Never stop learning. Great books are not written to impress people they are written to educate, inspire, and create lasting value for future generations.
