US-Iran War Latest News Updates Today Live: The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) said Saturday that it was launching fresh strikes to “punish” Iran against attacks on the country’s forces stationed in Jordan.

US warplanes use Jordanian military installations, with American forces operating alongside the Jordanian Armed Forces, with a notable presence at facilities such as the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base on the eastern side of the country.

In a post on ‘X’, the US CENTCOM wrote that the strikes were “designed to further degrade Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and swiftly punish Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces who launched attacks against American service members in Jordan last night.”

The development came shortly after the US military announced that two additional service members had been killed in the fresh hostilities with Iran, bringing the total death toll to 16.

Mojtaba’s Warning To US

After hours of anticipation, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei issued a statement, addressing the country’s officials and the public.

Amid the latest flare-up in West Asia, Khamenei vowed that Tehran would teach Washington “unforgettable lessons“, accusing the US of violating the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

In a message marking the “historic epic” surrounding the farewell ceremony for the “Martyr of Iran,” Khamenei said the violation of a preliminary agreement with Tehran demonstrated that the US President’s signature was “worthless and unreliable,” according to Tehran Times.
