The team behind ‘Ramayana‘ recently made an appearance at San Diego Comic-Con to showcase their highly anticipated film. Director Nitesh Tiwari, producer Namit Malhotra, and actors Ranbir Kapoor and Yash interacted with fans and spoke about the ambitious project. During one of the interactions, Ranbir also addressed speculation surrounding his future projects, firmly denying reports linking him to Dhoom 4.In a conversation on the Review Nation YouTube channel, the host pointed out that Yash would next be seen in Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups alongside Ramayana, while mentioning that Ranbir was reportedly set to headline Dhoom 4. The actor, however, dismissed the claim.“No, right now I am working on Ramayana and another film called Love & War. Which is directed by Mr Sanjay Bhansali. That should be out on January 24 next year,” he said. Interestingly, the official announcement for Love & War lists January 21 as its release date. Ranbir also made no reference to Animal Park, the sequel to his 2023 blockbuster Animal directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Speculation about Ranbir leading the next instalment of the Dhoom franchise has been circulating for several years. In 2024, a report by Pinkvilla, citing a source, claimed that producer Aditya Chopra believed Ranbir was the ideal choice to carry the franchise forward. The report further suggested that the actor had shown interest after extensive discussions. Around the same time, celebrity hairstylist Aalim Hakim shared photos of Ranbir’s new look, fuelling rumours that it was for either Dhoom 4 or Animal Park. The speculation continued into 2025, with Peeping Moon reporting that Vicky Kaushal was also being considered for a role in the film. However, Yash Raj Films has not made any official announcement regarding the project. The Dhoom franchise began in 2004 with Abhishek Bachchan portraying ACP Jai Dixit and Uday Chopra playing Ali, a small-time criminal who later becomes his trusted ally. John Abraham starred as the stylish thief Kabir Sharma, while Esha Deol and Rimi Sen featured in pivotal roles. The series expanded with Dhoom 2 in 2006, introducing Hrithik Roshan as master thief Aryan Singhania and Aishwarya Rai as Sunheri Kaur. Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra returned to reprise their roles, and the sequel’s massive success further cemented Dhoom as one of Bollywood’s most popular action franchises.
