Google has released another teaser for the upcoming Pixel 11 series, offering the clearest look so far at a new feature called Pixel Glow. The latest promotional video arrives ahead of the company’s Made by Google event, which is scheduled for August 12, where the Pixel 11 lineup is expected to make its official debut.

While the teaser does not reveal the complete specifications of the upcoming phones, it shifts the spotlight to a hardware feature that has been the subject of recent leaks. The video also reinforces Google’s focus on its ecosystem by showcasing services such as Gmail, Google Maps, Google Search and Google Docs, suggesting that users already invested in these apps could have a more integrated experience on a Pixel device.

Pixel Glow could bring back notification LEDs in a new form

The highlight of the teaser is the Pixel Glow module, which is now visible more clearly than in Google’s earlier promotional material. The feature appears as a circular RGB LED integrated into the camera bar on the rear of the Pixel 11 Pro.

Although Google has not officially explained how Pixel Glow will work, reports suggest that it is designed to function as a customizable notification light. When the phone is placed face-down, the LED may illuminate in different colours to indicate incoming calls, text messages, app notifications or other alerts. Users may also get options to assign specific colours or lighting patterns to different apps or contacts, though these details remain unconfirmed.

If the reports prove accurate, Pixel Glow would mark the return of a dedicated notification indicator, a feature that has gradually disappeared from modern smartphones as display technologies and always-on displays evolved.

More announcements expected before the launch event

The latest teaser focuses only on Pixel Glow and does not reveal any additional information about the Pixel 11 series. However, the lineup has already appeared in several leaks over the past few weeks, pointing to new colour options, possible pricing changes and upgrades across the range.

Google is expected to continue teasing new features before the August 12 launch event, where it will officially unveil the Pixel 11 series and explain how Pixel Glow fits into the overall user experience.

With the launch now just around the corner, Google appears to be gradually revealing individual features instead of announcing everything at once. The strategy keeps attention on the Pixel 11 lineup while building anticipation for the company’s next-generation smartphones, which are also expected to introduce new AI-powered capabilities alongside Android enhancements.
