Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs to forfeit seized cash and electronics in 2024 raid; music mogul’s prison release date revised to February 20, 2028

A federal judge has signed an order handing over the items confiscated during Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ arrest and the raids on his homes and Park Hyatt Hotel on September 16, 2024, when he was taken into federal custody.

Diddy’s cast and electronic items to be forfeited

An order authorising the forfeiture of cash and electronic devices seized from during the investigation that led to Diddy’s criminal conviction was signed by US District Judge Arun Subramanian, who presided over the trial. As per TMZ, the judge approved the order on Tuesday, officially transferring ownership of the seized items to the US government. The order allows federal authorities to take possession and dispose of the items in accordance with the law.The items in their possession include multiple iPhones, iPads, hard drives and approximately USD 9,000 in cash.

Why Diddy’s items are being forfeited

According to the court filings, no claims challenging the forfeiture were filed within the required 30-day period after the public notice was issued. With no objections received, the judge approved the government’s request to pass the order.

About the Diddy trial

The property was seized during federal raids at Diddy’s residences in 2024 as part of a criminal investigation. In July 2025, he was found ‘not guilty’ of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, but was found ‘guilty’ on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.On October 3, 2025, Judge Arun Subramanian sentenced Combs to 50 months (four years and two months) in prison and a fine of USD 500,000.

Diddy’s release date changed to Feb 2028

Separately, records from the Federal Bureau of Prisons indicate that Combs’ projected release date has been revised to February 20, 2028, days after his release had reportedly been moved forward to January 2028.The change follows reports that Combs was involved in a violent altercation with an inmate while in prison. As per reports, he was placed in a Special Housing Unit. Federal prison records now list February 20, 2028, as his projected release date.
