Arjun Kapoor couldn’t hold back tears at his sister Anshula’s wedding as he remembered their late mother Mona Shourie, wishing she could have witnessed the special day.

Arjun Kapoor’s sister Anshula Kapoor married Rohan Thakkar in July, and the entire Kapoor clan, including Boney Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi and others were present for the celebration. For Arjun and Anshula, however, their late mother Mona Shourie’s absence was deeply felt. A month after her wedding, Anshula has now shared an unseen video from the wedding reception that shows Arjun giving a speech on stage. He struggled to hold back tears as he remembered their mother, imagining how she would have danced and enjoyed every single moment of Anshula’s wedding.

In the video, Arjun took a moment to talk about his mother Mona Shourie and how much she would have enjoyed being part of Anshula and Rohan’s wedding celebrations. As he recalled her presence, he became visibly emotional and struggled to hold back tears.

“I want to take this moment to speak about our mom. Because she would have loved every single moment over these last few days. She would have loved every ritual…” Arjun said before his voice breaks.

He went on to imagine how she would have been involved in every little detail of the celebrations. Arjun said she would have made sure everything was done exactly the way Rohan’s family wanted, while also dancing, celebrating and personally looking after every guest who had gathered for the occasion.

He then got emotional while speaking about the rain outside, saying, “I know she is here with us tonight because itni jo baarish ho rahi hai na bahar, woh unke khushi ke aansu hain.” Calling the rain her blessings, Arjun added, “Woh unka aashirwaad hai, and she is blessing both of you.”

Unable to continue, Arjun turned away as he broke down. Anshula then walked up to him and embraced her brother.

Later in the video, Arjun opened up about how much he has missed his sister since she moved out. “The most I have missed Anshula is when she moved out. Abhi. Because tab tak andaaza nahi tha woh kitni zaruri hai,” he said.

Anshula Kapoor’s Emotional Note For Arjun

Meanwhile, in her caption, Anshula wrote, “I’ve watched this video so many times, and I always end up watching Bhai more than I watch myself. The way he looks at me. The way he tries to hold it together. The pride, the happiness, the tears… all of it. I knew my wedding would be emotional for me. I don’t think I was prepared for how emotional it would be to see it through my brother’s eyes. And I don’t think I fully understood what that day must have felt like for him until I watched this video.”

“We’ve grown up together, annoyed the life out of each other, protected each other… We’ve already lived so many different versions of life side by side. And now there’s this one too. So much has changed, and so much will keep changing. But I think some relationships just grow around all of it. Bhai, no matter where life takes us, I’ll always be your little sister. And you’ll always be home to me. Love you always and forever,” she added.

Arjun and Anshula Kapoor are Boney Kapoor’s children with his first wife, Mona Shourie Kapoor. Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor are Boney Kapoor’s daughters with his second wife, late actor Sridevi.
