Punjab CM Lists Projects Honouring Bhagat Singh, Says AAP Govt Working To Fulfil His Dreams

Speaking at the Jashan-e-Inquilab programme in Ludhiana on Bhagat Singh’s birth anniversary, Mann highlighted several projects undertaken to honour the revolutionary leader.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday said his government was working to fulfil the dreams of legendary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh and build a state based on patriotism, equality, justice and public welfare.
Speaking at the Jashan-e-Inquilab programme at Punjab Agricultural University in Ludhiana on Bhagat Singh’s birth anniversary, Mann highlighted several projects undertaken to honour the revolutionary leader.
These include naming the Mohali airport after Bhagat Singh, installing a 30-foot-high statue in Mohali, putting portraits of Bhagat Singh and BR Ambedkar in government offices and developing the Rs 52-crore Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh Heritage Complex at Khatkar Kalan.
Heritage Complex At Khatkar Kalan
Mann said the Khatkar Kalan project was aimed at developing the village as a heritage, learning and cultural tourism destination.
“The project has been conceived to preserve the historic character of Khatkar Kalan while presenting the life, ideals, sacrifices and continuing legacy of the revolutionary martyrs through contemporary interpretation,” he said.
The complex will include the ancestral house, a replica house, heritage street, courtroom experience, library, curated displays and a recreated village setting.
Mann said murals, sculptures, period props and other exhibits would showcase important events from the freedom struggle and Bhagat Singh’s life. The project will also feature an auditorium, audio-visual systems, a musical fountain and lighting installations.
‘No Stone Left Unturned’
Mann said the government was making efforts to preserve Bhagat Singh’s legacy and connect younger generations with his values.
“This is not a political function. This is a solemn occasion to pay tribute to the great martyr who sacrificed his life for the motherland,” he said.
He said the government would leave “no stone unturned” to fulfil Bhagat Singh’s dreams and ensure his ideals continued to inspire future generations.
Mann also said the state government had prioritised education, welfare and the protection of Punjab’s water resources as part of its broader vision for the state.
Mann Calls For Youth To Follow Ideals
The chief minister said Bhagat Singh’s vision remained relevant as corruption, nepotism and poverty continued to pose challenges.
“These martyrs had not laid down their lives so that rampant corruption and social inequality could prevail in the country. Their sacrifice was for a nation where every citizen could live with dignity, equality and opportunity,” he said.
Mann also urged young people to follow Bhagat Singh’s example and contribute towards building a progressive and prosperous Punjab and India.
During the event, he also highlighted various welfare and development initiatives undertaken by his government.
