Malayalam actor Vincy Aloshious, who accused Shine Tom Chacko of inappropriate behaviour on a film’s set, has said that she will not address the matter legally.

Days after calling out actor Shine Tom Chacko for his inappropriate behaviour on a film set, Malayalam star Vincy Aloshious has said that she will not take the legal route in the matter. Sharing the reason, the Jana Gana Mana actor said that she wants to deal with the matter internally and not outside the film industry. However, she clarified that she won’t take back the complaint that was filed with the Kerala Film Chamber and Internal Complaints Committee (ICC).
Vincy Aloshious recently addressed the Kerala media and expressed her desire to see change in the Malayalam film industry, which is why she chose to file a complaint in the first place. She emphasised that such incidents must not happen again.
As per reports, the internal film committee is set to review Vincy’s complaint, with the actor confirming her willingness to cooperate with the investigation.
Previously, Vincy expressed her disappointment, saying she was “ready to withdraw” her complaint after claiming that Kerala Film Chamber’s General Secretary, Saji Nanthiyattu, had disclosed Shine Tom Chacko’s name to the media despite her repeated request to keep the name under wraps. However, during a press conference on Monday, she issued an apology for accusing Nanthiyattu. “
“I was under the impression that the general secretary of the film chamber had revealed the accused’s name despite my request to keep the complaint confidential. However, I would like to offer my apologies to Saji Nanthiyattu and will co-operate with the monitoring committee led by the film chamber,” she said.
Meanwhile, Kerala’s Excise Minister MB Rajesh clarified on Sunday that the government won’t spare anyone in the drug case. He stressed that both the police and excise departments are taking a zero-tolerance approach, adding that no sector, including the film industry, will be spared or shown leniency in this ongoing matter.
What is the Shine Tom Chacko controversy?
Actor Shine Tom Chacko was seen running from his hotel room after a drug raid by Kochi police on April 16. The checks, specifically aimed at Chacko, were conducted by the District Anti-Narcotic Special Action Force (DANSAF) at a hotel in Ernakulam district.
The drug raid was conducted following an internal complaint filed by Vincy Aloshious with the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), in which she accused Chacko of inappropriate behaviour on the sets of Soothravakyam. She claimed that she saw Chacko exhale a powdery substance during the rehearsals.
Chacko was taken into custody by Kochi police on Saturday and was interrogated for four hours. He was later released on bail.
