Actress Sanchita Ugale was found dead at her residence in Nalasopara, on the outskirts of Mumbai, police said on Monday. According to the police, 22-year-old actress allegedly died by suicide.
AK Dambare, Investigating Officer, Achole Police Station shared the details and said, “On June 14, a 22-year-old woman named Sanchita Machhindra Ugale died by suicide at her residence. The police were informed about the incident by her father.”
“We have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) No. 58/2026 and initiated an investigation into the case. So far, no individual has been named in the complaint filed by her father, and no FIR has been registered against anyone. We are continuing our investigation into the matter,” Dambare added.
According to police, Ugale lived in Nalasopara with her parents and sister. Officials said she was alone at home when the incident took place between 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm on Sunday evening.
Family members later found her body and alerted authorities. Police reached the spot and initiated an inquiry into the case.
During a preliminary investigation, officers did not recover any suicide note from the residence. Police said they are examining all aspects of the case and recording statements from family members and others associated with the actress.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and officials are awaiting the medical report as part of the investigation.
“No suicide note has been found from the spot. Further investigation is underway,” a police official said.
