Rhino charges safari jeep at Manas National Park in Assam, ramming and trying to overturn it, tourists panic but escape unharmed.

A tense moment unfolded at Manas National Park in Assam when a rhinoceros charged at a safari jeep carrying tourists. Dramatic visuals of the encounter have surfaced. The incident took place in the Bansbari range of the national park in the northeastern state.
A video of the incident shows the rhino suddenly approaching the stationary safari vehicle before aggressively ramming it with its horn. In the clip, the animal can be seen repeatedly trying to overturn or lift the jeep, leaving tourists visibly shaken as the vehicle shakes under the impact. The driver, however, managed to steer the jeep away in time, preventing any injuries.

The video captures moments of panic as the rhino continues its charge for several seconds, while tourists inside the vehicle remain trapped in fear. Despite the close call, all passengers escaped unharmed.
The latest incident has drawn attention because a similar encounter had taken place in the Salbari range of the same park last year. In that case, too, a rhinoceros charged at a safari jeep carrying tourists, and the dramatic episode was caught on camera. Viral footage from the earlier incident showed the animal approaching a halted vehicle and repeatedly attempting to overturn it before a few men managed to scare it away. No injuries were reported then either.
Known for its population of one-horned rhinoceroses and rich biodiversity, Manas National Park remains one of Assam’s most visited wildlife destinations, attracting tourists from across the country and abroad.
