Exclusive interview with the author
Q: What Inspired You To Write This Book?
A:I was inspired to write The Emotional Reset after observing how many people, including myself, struggle with managing emotions. During a certain challenging period of my life, I felt overwhelmed by negative thoughts, anxieties, and emotional triggers. I saw a need for a practical, accessible guide that doesn’t just tell people to “think positive” but explains why we feel the way we do and how we can change our emotional patterns using proven strategies. My own journey of learning to manage emotions, as well as my interest in psychology, motivated me to create a resource that combines scientific insights with simple, actionable tools. My hope was to make emotional healing more approachable and effective for everyone.
Q: Can You Tell Us About The Book?
A:The Emotional Reset works through the 5R framework that guides you through the process of rewiring your emotional and mental patterns. Each step is designed to help you gradually move from a state of negativity and overwhelm to one of positivity and inner peace. 1. Recognize – The first step is about becoming aware of the negative thoughts and emotions that are holding you back. You can’t change what you don’t know. By recognizing these patterns, you begin to take the first step towards emotional freedom. 2. Research – In this step, you build the knowledge necessary to kick-start your healing process. You learn how your brain processes emotions, and how you can identify and manage your emotional triggers. 3. Reframe – Once you understand your emotions, it’s time to change the way you think. Reframing is about looking at your situations differently, finding the silver linings, and replacing negative thoughts with more positive, constructive ones. 4. Rebuild – This step focuses on building resilience and inner strength. You will learn how to find meaning in suffering and turn your challenges into opportunities for growth. 5. Release – The final step is about letting go of what no longer serves you and learning to love yourself unconditionally. Whether it’s past hurts, grudges, or limiting beliefs, releasing these allows you to move forward with a lighter heart and a clearer mind.
Q: What Does The Title Mean?
A:Just like we reset a device when it isn’t working properly, this book guides readers through the process of resetting their emotional patterns, allowing them to move from a place of stress, anxiety, or negativity to one of balance, calm, and positivity. The title is a reminder that emotional change is not only possible but achievable with the right approach. The truth is that everyone will need emotional healing at some point in their life, especially if they have been living their life to the fullest, going after challenges, and seeking growth. So, it’s not a shame if you need time to heal. It means you haven’t been hiding from life but are facing it head-on. You’re a warrior, and like all warriors, you may get injured and need time to heal, right? Being human means experiencing a wide range of emotions, including joy, sadness, anger, and fear. It’s normal to have emotional scars from life’s experiences. Emotional healing becomes necessary when old memories or feelings still cause pain and impact your present. When we carry unresolved emotions, they shape our thoughts, decisions, and interactions with others, often in ways we don’t even realize. Even if you generally feel okay, you can’t reach your true potential in life until you let go of whatever has caused you emotional pain. We need to heal not just to fix what’s broken inside us but to grow and become the best version of ourselves. At any moment, you have the power to redirect your life. The key is knowing that you can hit the reset button right now—in the present moment. By regularly resetting your emotions, you can maintain mental and emotional well-being, leading to a life that’s not only happier but also more meaningful and fulfilling.
Q:What Did You Learn When Writing The Book?
A:When you are under the spell of negative emotions, it’s not easy to find happiness and motivation. People say there is light at the end of the tunnel but it’s very difficult to see any damn light at the end of the tunnel when the tunnel is full of dense fog. This emotional fog can make it hard to believe in the possibility of better days, even though we intellectually know they exist. You could be surrounded by all the positive knowledge or books you will ever need in your lifetime but still not be able to grasp anything written in them because your mind is not receptive. I have always been enthusiastic about positive thinking and self-help books. Over the past fifteen years, I have read hundreds of books on self-improvement, which has helped me a lot. However, during a certain challenging period of my life, negative thoughts started dominating my mind, and I felt overwhelmed by the weight of my emotions. I began devouring even more books, took courses in positive psychology, and watched countless videos on YouTube about managing emotions. I was on a quest to understand how the mind works and how I could control my emotions instead of letting them control me. Well, little did I know that this path was not an instant fix. No matter how much I learned about managing my emotions, I would often fall back into the spiral of negative thoughts. Finally, I realized I didn’t need more knowledge but more action. Things started changing only when I started creating practical exercises to apply the knowledge I had gained. I decided to make them simple, actionable, and practical. That’s how I ended up creating a structured 5R framework that anyone can apply to get out of negativity, manage their emotions, and build resilience.
Q: Where Do You Get Your Information Or Ideas For Your Books?
A: My ideas come from a mix of personal experience and research. Working as a life coach, I interact with people who face emotional struggles, and these conversations provide real insights into what people need and what works. I’m a spiritual person and I love to meditate every day. So, the insights I get during my meditation sessions also help me write. Beyond that, I’m constantly learning—reading self-help books, studying spiritual practices, and enrolling in psychology courses. My aim is to blend science and spirituality to create practical tools that make emotional healing accessible for everyone.
Q:How Many Books Have You Written? Which Is Your Favourite?
A: Including this book, I have written two books so far. The first book I wrote was for dental students. It’s titled “How to conquer dental school.” Since “The Emotional Reset” is a book that helped me discover myself, it’s definitely my favourite.
Q: What Does Success Mean To You? What Is The Definition Of Success?
A: Success is such a vague concept. It can mean different things for different people and that actually makes things easier for all of us. Imagine if everyone wanted the same things? It would create chaos in the world right? For me, it’s being able to do what I want, when I want, without worrying about the results of my work. being able to spend my days reading interesting books, play with my daughter, work without deadlines, meditate for as long as I want, travel the world, live wherever I want, be able to grow and share my experiences with the world, be able to write more books, exercise everyday, etc Success is a deeply personal and flexible concept—one that can mean entirely different things to different people. And this variety is what makes it so liberating. If we all aspired to the same goals, imagine the chaos it would create in the world. There would be even more competition, envy, and a lack of genuine fulfillment. But because success is unique for each of us, it opens up endless possibilities for us to create a life that feels truly satisfying. For me, success is all about freedom—having the freedom to choose how I spend my time, my energy, and my focus, without being tied down by concerns about the results of my work. It’s about having the liberty to follow my passions, express myself authentically, and enjoy the present moment without the burden of worrying about outcomes. To me, success is the feeling of being at peace, knowing that I am living a life that reflects my true values. It means waking up each day with the option to do what I love, whether that’s reading a book that expands my knowledge, playing and laughing with my daughter, singing or working on projects that inspire me without the stress of deadlines.
