Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk will lead the DOGE, along with former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.
The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), co-headed by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, has invited applications from candidates to work with the newly created US department under Donald Trump’s second tenure as the US president. The vacancy requires “high-IQ small-government revolutionaries willing to work 80+ hours per week”.
“We are very grateful to the thousands of Americans who have expressed interest in helping us at DOGE. We don’t need more part-time idea generators. We need super high-IQ small-government revolutionaries willing to work 80+ hours per week on unglamorous cost-cutting,” the DOGE said in a post on X.
The top 1% of applicants will be reviewed by Musk and Ramaswamy themselves. Those interested can apply for the job in X DM of the department, according to the post.

No specific educational qualification or professional experience is needed for job. Applicant just need to verify their X account, which costs $8 a month, to send direct message (DM) to the DOGE’s X account.
Most importantly, the job comes with zero compensation.
On Tuesday, Trump announced the “Department of Government Efficiency”, which will work from outside the government to offer the White House “advice and guidance” and will partner with the Office of Management and Budget to “drive large scale structural reform, and create an entrepreneurial approach to Government never seen before”.
It has the acronym DOGE, which is also the ticker symbol under which a cryptocurrency dogecoin trades. Musk will lead it, along with former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.
