Dr.Rajashakhar Hanumanthu Talks About His Book “Building Brilliance A Step by Step Guide to Setting Up a Successful Jewellery Manufacturing Factory”
About the Author:
Every organization tells a story of growth, challenges, and how it chooses to lead. My story has always been about helping businesses build systems that not only work efficiently but also work responsibly. Over the past 26 years, I’ve had the privilege of working across industries, from manufacturing to IT to consulting, leading initiatives that strengthen governance, embed sustainability, and build trust through quality and transparency.
Early in my career, I learned a simple truth: excellence isn’t a department, it’s a culture. Whether it was implementing ISO standards, leading quality transformations, or designing risk-based audit frameworks, my goal has always been to create systems that empower people and protect the organization’s integrity. Today, as the Founder & Managing Director of TAR Tech Consultancy LLP, I partner with organizations to design integrated management systems that align compliance with purpose, bridging the gap between performance and principles.
My professional philosophy is rooted in evidence-based governance, risk accountability, and ethical leadership. I believe that sustainable success comes when quality, governance, and purpose move in harmony. I’m now channeling this experience toward board readiness and advisory roles, where I can contribute to governance maturity, ESG strategy, and ethical growth.
What drives me:
• Building transparent systems that earn stakeholder trust.
• Guiding leaders to see governance as an enabler, not a constraint.
• Embedding sustainability into business DNA, not just reports.
If your organization believes that responsibility and performance can grow together, we already share the same vision. Let’s connect — I’m always open to conversations about governance transformation, sustainability leadership, and building responsible growth systems that create long-term value.
Exclusive interview with the author
Q: What Inspired You To Write This Book?
A: The inspiration behind writing “Building Brilliance – A Step-by-Step Guide to Setting Up a Successful Jewellery Manufacturing Factory” came from years of observing the realities of the jewellery manufacturing industry.
Jewellery is one of the most beautiful forms of human craftsmanship. Behind every piece of jewellery is not just gold or gemstones, but the hard work, skill, and dedication of many people working in manufacturing units. Yet, I often noticed that many entrepreneurs and small manufacturers enter this industry with passion but without clear guidance on how to build a structured and sustainable manufacturing operation.
During my professional journey in quality systems, operational strategy, and compliance, I had the opportunity to see how proper systems, governance, and efficient processes can completely transform a manufacturing business. Unfortunately, much of this knowledge remains scattered or hidden in professional practice and rarely reaches those who are just starting their journey.
At one point, I felt a simple but powerful question:
What if this knowledge could help someone avoid years of struggle?
What if a young entrepreneur could build a stronger factory because of shared experience?
That thought became the seed for this book.
This book is not just about machinery, processes, or factory layouts. It is about sharing practical wisdom gained through experience so that the next generation of jewellery manufacturers can build businesses that are efficient, ethical, and globally competitive.
If this book helps even a few entrepreneurs create better systems, empower their workforce, and build sustainable manufacturing businesses, then the effort of writing it will truly be worthwhile.
Because in the end, building a factory is not just about producing jewellery —
it is about building opportunities, livelihoods, and long-term value for the industry.
Q: Can You Tell Us About The Book?
A: Every masterpiece of jewellery begins long before it shines in a showroom.
It begins inside a factory—where precision, craftsmanship, systems, and discipline come together to create brilliance.
Building Brilliance is a practical guide for entrepreneurs and industry professionals who want to understand the real foundation of jewellery manufacturing.
This book provides a structured roadmap for setting up and managing a successful jewellery manufacturing factory—from operational planning and quality systems to process efficiency and governance.
Written from real industry experience, this guide bridges the gap between traditional craftsmanship and modern manufacturing excellence.
Q: What Does The Title Mean?
A: The title “Building Brilliance” carries both a literal and a deeper meaning.
In the jewellery industry, brilliance refers to the sparkle and beauty of a finished piece of jewellery. But that brilliance does not appear by chance—it is the result of precision, craftsmanship, disciplined processes, and well-structured manufacturing systems working together.
When I chose the title Building Brilliance, I wanted to highlight that creating exceptional jewellery begins long before the product reaches the customer. It begins inside the factory—where the right infrastructure, skilled people, quality systems, and operational processes are carefully built.
The word “Building” represents the journey of establishing a manufacturing enterprise—from planning and systems to governance and operational excellence.
The word “Brilliance” represents the final outcome—not just beautiful jewellery, but a well-run, efficient, and sustainable manufacturing organisation.
So the title reflects the central idea of the book:
true brilliance in jewellery is not only created by design, but by strong systems, disciplined processes, and thoughtful leadership behind the scenes.
Q: How Long Does It Take You To Write A Book?
A: People often think writing a book begins when you sit down at a desk and start typing. But in reality, the journey begins much earlier.
For me, this book started forming quietly over many years of working in the jewellery manufacturing industry. Every factory visit, every conversation with craftsmen, every operational challenge, and every system improvement added a small piece to the story. At that time, I was not thinking about writing a book—I was simply learning, observing, and gaining experience.
One day, I realised that these lessons, which had taken years to learn in the industry, could actually help many entrepreneurs who were trying to build their own manufacturing units. That thought stayed with me. Slowly, the idea of writing a book began to take shape.
When I finally decided to write “Building Brilliance,” the actual writing process took a few months. Many evenings and weekends were spent reflecting on experiences, organising ideas, and carefully explaining concepts so that readers could clearly understand the journey of setting up a jewellery manufacturing factory.
But in truth, the book was not written in a few months.
It was written through years of experience, challenges, observations, and lessons learned in the industry.
Sitting down to write was simply the moment when all those experiences finally found their way onto paper.
Q: Where Do You Get Your Information Or Ideas For Your Books?
A: Most of the ideas for my book come from real experiences in the industry rather than from imagination alone.
During my professional journey, I had the opportunity to work closely with manufacturing environments, quality systems, operational processes, and governance frameworks. Every factory visit, every operational challenge, and every discussion with industry professionals offered valuable lessons. Over time, these experiences created a deeper understanding of how manufacturing businesses actually function behind the scenes.
I also learned a great deal from observing the people who make the industry work—the skilled craftsmen, the entrepreneurs starting new manufacturing units, and the professionals trying to improve systems and processes. Their challenges, innovations, and determination often sparked ideas that later became part of the book.
In addition to personal experience, I also draw insights from industry standards, professional practices, and continuous learning through research, discussions, and reading about manufacturing systems and global best practices.
So in many ways, the ideas in my book are a combination of practical industry experience, observation, research, and a desire to share knowledge that can help others build better and more sustainable manufacturing businesses.
For me, writing is not just about creating content—it is about transforming real-world experience into knowledge that others can use.
Q: When Did You Write Your First Book And How Old Were You?
A: I wrote my first book, “Building Brilliance – A Step-by-Step Guide to Setting Up a Successful Jewellery Manufacturing Factory,” after many years of working in the manufacturing and quality systems field.
The idea came from my real experiences in the industry and the challenges I saw entrepreneurs face while setting up manufacturing units. I felt that sharing practical knowledge could help others build better and more structured businesses.
So writing the book was not just about age or timing—it was about reaching a point in my journey where I had enough experience to share something meaningful with the industry.
