About the Author:

Dr. Shraddha Sanghani, an MD Physician with over a decade of experience, has dedicated her career to treating lifestyle disorders such as diabetes, obesity, thyroid problems, and hypertension. A passionate advocate of preventive healthcare, she has guided countless individuals toward healthier, more balanced lives. After becoming a mother herself, she experienced many unspoken struggles—physical, emotional, and social—that often remain hidden in silence. Meeting other women with the same challenges made her realize the urgent need for open, honest conversations around motherhood. This inspired her to write this book—a heartfelt blend of medical insight, personal experience, and compassion—to support mothers through their most transformative journey.

Exclusive interview with the author

Q: What Inspired You To Write This Book?

A:The inspiration for this book came from a very personal place — my own journey into motherhood. As a doctor, I thought I was well-prepared for everything that comes after childbirth — the sleepless nights, the hormonal changes, the healing. But when I actually became a mother, I realized that so much of what we experience in those early months is never really talked about. The emotional turbulence, the self-doubt, the guilt, and even the quiet loneliness that can creep in despite having loved ones around — these are things every new mother feels, but very few openly discuss. When I began interacting with other mothers, both in my clinic and outside, I noticed a common thread — women were struggling silently with the same emotions I had felt. Many of them told me, “No one told me this could happen,” or “I thought I was the only one feeling this way.” That’s when it really hit me — the postpartum journey isn’t just about physical recovery; it’s about reclaiming your sense of self, rebuilding confidence, and nurturing your mental and emotional health too. As a physician who has spent over a decade treating lifestyle disorders, I’ve always believed in healing through awareness. And as a mother, I felt an even deeper responsibility to start honest conversations — about the things we often hide behind a smile. This book was born from that desire. It’s my way of saying to every mother out there: you are not alone, and it’s okay to feel everything you’re feeling. I wanted to create something that wasn’t just a guide, but a companion — part science, part soul — that helps mothers navigate their transformation with grace, courage, and self-compassion.

Q: Can You Tell Us About The Book?

A: This book is a heartfelt exploration of what truly happens to a woman after she becomes a mother — not just physically, but emotionally, mentally, and socially. It’s not another parenting manual or medical handbook; it’s more like a warm conversation between mothers, sprinkled with medical insight, real-life stories, and a lot of empathy. I’ve written it to address the parts of motherhood that often go unspoken — the body changes, the emotional ups and downs, the guilt, the identity shift, the strain on relationships, and the invisible mental load that so many women silently carry. Each chapter focuses on a different facet of postpartum life — from physical recovery and hormonal changes to mental health, intimacy, mindful mothering, and even the role of partners and family support. The tone is conversational and honest because I wanted it to feel like you’re sitting across from a friend who understands — someone who’s been there, who can reassure you that what you’re feeling is normal, and who can gently guide you with both compassion and medical clarity. The book also weaves in practical advice — how to manage postpartum depression, rebuild intimacy, find balance, set boundaries, and care for yourself without guilt. But more than anything, it’s about helping mothers rediscover themselves amidst the chaos of motherhood. In short, it’s a blend of medicine, emotion, and motherhood — a space where science meets sensitivity. My hope is that every mother who reads it feels seen, supported, and reminded that she’s doing better than she thinks.

Q: Was The Character Inspired By A Real Person?

A: The characters are inspired my real mothers – their journeys and mine. The stories included in th book are all from real life experiences from mothers in their respective jourmays of motherhood.

Q: When Did You Write Your First Book And How Old Were You?

A: This is my first book and i started writing it when i was 32 years old. Being a first time writer I knew what i wanted to convey but it took sometime for me to bring it down to words. I completed the book in 18 months and then another few months for publication.

Q: What, In Your Opinion, Are The Most Important Elements Of Good Writing?

A: To be able to connect with the reader, To make them feel that we understand the issues and feel them.

Q: What Does Success Mean To You? What Is The Definition Of Success?

A: Success for me means to be able to reach to as many people as possible and help them in any way I can. Being a doctor I have been doin so since 20 years but by being a writer I wish to connect with many more individuals. Fo the same I have started a websie of my own where I do webinars which help normal people understand medical problems and how to deal with them.

Q: Where Do You Get Your Greatest Ideas For Writing?

A: Interactions with People.
