Harvey Weinstein, who is serving a long prison sentence, felt happy after Adrien Brody mentioned his children, India and Dashiell, during the Oscars speech.

Adrien Brody, who won the Best Actor award at the 97th Academy Awards, has received an unexpected compliment for his nearly six minute acceptance speech from Harvey Weinstein. The former Hollywood producer, who is serving a long prison sentence, shared his happiness after Adrien mentioned his children, India and Dashiell, during the Oscars speech. For those not aware, The Brutalist star has been dating Weinstein’s ex-wife, Georgina Chapman, since she separated from him after his criminal activities were exposed in public. Weinstein is reportedly happy that his children are getting the love and care they deserve.
A spokesperson from Weinstein’s team told People, “Harvey is happy for Georgina and grateful that his kids are being loved and cared for as they deserve to be.”
At the Oscars, when Adrien Brody was thanking the team behind The Brutalist, including the director Brady Corbet and other cast members, the actor said, “I share this with my amazing partner Georgina, who is not only reinvigorated my own self-worth but my sense of value and my values and her beautiful children, Dash and India. I know it’s been a roller coaster but thank you for accepting me into your life and popsy’s coming home a winner.”
Interestingly, during the 97th Academy Awards, Adrien broke two major records. First, this was his second time winning the Best Actor award, as he previously took home the same honour in 2002 for his work in The Pianist. Second, his nearly six minute acceptance speech became the longest in Oscars history. While the team behind the prestigious event usually cuts off winners’ speeches within a few seconds, Adrien turned the tables on them by continuing with his long speech despite their attempts to stop him.
Georgina Chapman married Harvey Weinstein in 2007 but filed for divorce in 2017 after multiple women accused him of sexual misconduct. She was granted custody of their children and later started dating Adrien in 2019.
Before going to prison, Weinstein, the co-founder of Miramax and The Weinstein Company, was one of the most powerful and respected figures in Hollywood. Over the years, he produced several Oscar winning films like Pulp Fiction and Shakespeare in Love.
