Israel-Palestine War: 41-year-old Sheeja Anand from Kerala received injuries in the attack and had undergone surgery
An Indian nurse from Kerala, who was deployed as a caretaker in Israel was reportedly injured in an airstrike by the Hamas terror group amid the Israel-Palestine war. Sadly, at the time of the attack, the woman was on a video call with her husband.
According to news agency ANI, the 41-year-old Sheeja Anand received injuries in the attack and had undergone surgery. Her condition is now said to be stable and she is safe.
The woman, who has been working in Israel for over 7 years reportedly called her family in India to inform them that she was safe when a thundering loud sound, apparently from a rocket strike, disrupted the call. Anand’s family was unable to contact her after that.
However, a fellow Keralite later informed Anand’s family that she was injured in the attack and underwent surgery. He also informed Anand would be shifted to another hospital for another surgery.
Anand’s husband and two children live in Pune. She hails from Kerala’s Kannur district.
Notably, several people in Kerala are reportedly stuck in Israel amid war with Palestine. A pilgrim group from Kerala was struck in the war-struck country after conflict broke out following the attack of Hamas.
The pilgrims, however, said that they were safe and had communicated to their families back home.
The 45-member pilgrim group from Kerala had set out on October 3 and after visiting Jordan and Palestine, reached Israel and were visiting holy places in that country.
Meanwhile, Israel on Sunday strongly retaliated at Gaza after the Palestinian militant group Hamas launched a massive surprise attack on the country.
The country’s security cabinet officially declared that the country was at war with Palestine.
The conflict has led to the death of over 700 Israelis and thousands of others have been left injured. Meanwhile, the death toll in Gaza has also risen to 493, suggest reports.
