The video has gone viral on X (formerly Twitter).
A clip has been shared on social media in which a Pakistan fan can be seen arguing with a cop when asked to not chant ‘Pakistan Zindabad’.
A video alleging that a cop in Bengaluru stopped a fan from chanting ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ during an ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match between Pakistan and Australia has gone viral on social media.
In the 45-second clip, a cricket fan at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, wearing a Pakistan cricket team jersey, can be seen arguing with a policeman why he cannot cheer for his cricket team that is facing Australia.
He asks why it’s ok to chant ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ but not ‘Pakistan Zindabad’.
In response, the cop can be heard as saying that it’s ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ is fine but shouting ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ is not good.
“Why not? I have come from Pakistan, Pakistan is playing, what else should I say?” the fan quizzed the cop.
The Pakistan fan then took out his mobile phone and asked the cop to tell him on video that he’s not allowed to say ‘Pakistan Zindabad’.
